Chicago wrs wade in a sea of mediocrity. The good thing about that is when one is shut down, it doesn't affect the offense at all.Chicago is one of those offenses that spreads it out and you never know which of(Knox, Bennett, Hester) will get the numbers that week. I can't wait if Aromashadu has a couple of games to get the SP going on that train again.
NE and MIN don't have great defenses. In fact, NE's defense is pretty bad while Minn's is only middle of the pack. Here's why I ask - weeks 14-16 they get NE, Min, and NYJ. I can see Chicago throwing it a ton because these are all difficult matchups and I doubt they'll just run over any of these teams. Seems like there could be some upside here.
I know, but NE's offense tends to score a lot of points, which could force Chicago to try and keep up.NE and MIN don't have great defenses. In fact, NE's defense is pretty bad while Minn's is only middle of the pack.
I thought this last year too but not too many people agreed. Unfortunately, when he missed most of the OTAs and training camp, and when Martz seemed to ignore him for so long, I gave up and cut him finally to make room for our FA draft in August. Big mistake. He won't ever be a top 10 type WR, but he has the skills to be a very consistent PPR/possession WR.Eminence said:For someone who watches Bears games weekly. Bennett is the Bears WR to have; he's the most "complete" wide-receiver and is really starting to come into his own. He reminds me of Anquan Boldin the way he'll go up to make the tough catch and FIGHTS for yards after the catch.

Obviously he's still got a little ways to go developing as a player; but these are the kind of guys you target in dynasty.
Acquire Bennett now.
I think whats going on is Bennett is the hot read now most of the time. Cutler has thrown a number of INTs this years on hot reads to Knox. Its unfortunate for Knox cause he has the speed to really punish the D on those plays. Bennett is going to make the right adjustment and make the catch. He had an awesome run after the catch this week but it seems hard to count on that week to week.ponchsox said:Didn't Martz just say Knox was? Could have fooled me by the number of targets on Sunday.
I wasn't even aware that he missed OTAs and training camp; combine that with the fact he didn't line-up for a single snap his Rookie season and I'm even more intrigued about his prospects now. Tentatively speaking he may still be "behind" the curve as far as WRs go. Looking forward to hearing any progressions he makes during this off-season.I thought this last year too but not too many people agreed. Ya the hype train kinda came and fizzled out last year when Cutler first went CHI to reunite with his old pal from Vanderbilt. This is his first 100 yd rec game of his 3 yr career and vs DET. He might still be worth a stash if you have the room. I agree it will be hard to tell who gets the production from this offense.I thought this last year too but not too many people agreed. After last night, I'm not sure I would qualify NE's defense as being bad. They looked pretty good to me, but I guess we'll see how they hold up next week against Chicago on the road.NE and MIN don't have great defenses. In fact, NE's defense is pretty bad while Minn's is only middle of the pack.
This is an incredibly optimistic take on Earl Bennett. Boldin has about 20 pounds on Bennett and has far more YAC potential than Bennett ever will. Bennett is a solid possession receiver, but he is never going to even resemble Boldin, in real life or in terms of fantasy production.Knox is going to continue to produce the most in this offense, but none of these guys will probably ever be more than a fantasy WR3. At this point, Knox is really just a WR3 in most leagues, and I don't even think Bennett will ever be able to match that. For someone who watches Bears games weekly. Knox is a starter. Bennett is not.Knox is averaging 6 targets per game.Bennett is averaging 4.5 targets per game.Sort of interested to hear people's thoughts on Dodds ranking Knox at 19 this week and sticking Bennet at 44. Anyone?

The problem with these kind of stats is that it can change weekly depending on who the defense decides to focus on. Knox was getting the targets before and was successful. In turn, defenses start paying more attention to him in the gameplan and Cutler goes to plan B which might be Bennett. Flip the scenario and Knox might be the guy next week. I'm not sure you can read too much into these numbers. These guys are all possession receivers and they will take turns. They have been doing it for years because they haven't had a true #1 since maybe Conway?Last 2 Games:Bennett- 13 targetsKnox- 7 targetsKnox is a starter. I don't know if I'd call Knox a possession receiver, at least this year. He's 43/774/2, averaging 18 yards per reception, eight best in the league. The problem with these kind of stats is that it can change weekly depending on who the defense decides to focus on. He may be more than a possession receiver but I certainly wouldn't call him #1 material.I don't know if I'd call Knox a possession receiver, at least this year. He was the leading receiver on the team last year in a number of statistical categories--he just never had the monster games the other guys had. But he was the most consistent receiver last year in many ways. Also, he is the youngest of the group that includes Hester, Aromashodu, and Knox. The reason his rookie year was so bad: first, he was very, very young. Second, the team made the mistake of making him learn every position. When he played, naturally he was confused. So, he didn't play much. But his catch % (catches/targets) and his yards/target were very high. The guy has great hands. Argh. I wish I hadn't dropped him.I wasn't even aware that he missed OTAs and training camp; combine that with the fact he didn't line-up for a single snap his Rookie season and I'm even more intrigued about his prospects now.
