When U2 tickets at soldier field go on sale Tuesday I'm going to buy,  what's a good hotel that has easy access to the stadium, and any thoughts on what the best value in seats would be for a concert setup at soldier.

thanks in advance

* - yes i realize this is a waste of money in advance finance guys, imagine the return I could get over 20 years from staying home not paying for a flight, tickets or a hotel...  imagine if I just played the Joshua Tree album in my basement real loud after a few beers and a vicodin instead....  this trip could cost me an entire day or two of work down the road!!!!!! zomg!!

Roosevelt Rd is an excellent access route over to Soldier Field/Museum Campus.  So a hotel on S. Michigan Ave. (just north of there) would work great.  The whole area around State and Roosevelt is very popular right now (daughter and her boyfriend live two blocks north) ...i.e., people out and about at night, so generally safe.  You might also look for an AirBnB in that area.  If you stay elsewhere, a few of the el trains stop at State and Roosevelt, so that makes it convenient.

Given how stingy you are, I'm going to recommend you just stay on the Red Line train. It runs 24/7 and you can just sleep in it all night. Get breakfast at the local shelter maybe? There's also the youth hostel, too, if you are feeling flush.

Depends on how much you want to blow

You can get room here for $150 on priceline

Nice "great" room for a cocktail or 10

have some fun and live on the edge and wait until the night before and book through the Hotel Tonight App.

That was all I came to post about.  Otherwise, I've got nothing.  Have fun working a few extra days so you can go see them!!

Love the old time feel of the Palmer House!  (It was featured in The Fugitive movie some years back.)

Another consideration is to stay in the first suburb west, which is Oak Park (my town).  This is a neat place:

You can take the el's Green Line from Oak Park to State/Roosevelt in the city (about 25 minutes) and walk over from there.  You could do the same to come home or catch an Uber.
