Get the free 3 points the Raiders just gave you go up 10-0 put the pressure on the Raiders and force a young team to step up like they didn't against the Jets when things went bad. By going for it you give them the opportunity to stop you and get jazzed up. Look at the pep on offense now.
i was trying to make an excuse for the Raiders false start in that situation.
If he'd cut earlier he would have had it no problem, and if he'd kept going for the corner he would have gotten it no problem. Instead he waited until he was right behind his blocker and then cut right into the blocker's back. It was one of the weirdest runs I've seen.
While I think it is smart for Chucky to run a lot of constraint plays like this against the aggressive defense of KC I don't really like those calls on 3rd and short and not with a player who recently fumbled the ball.
