2025 1.01 Pick: The Bengals, Titans and Jaguars are tied for futility! Who is the WORST team in the NFL? (1 Viewer)

Who gets the first pick in the 2025 draft?

I'll start.

Carolina Panthers. I haven't seen a professional football team this ill-prepared to play a game than this one. They got abused yesterday. There was nothing good to report from their team. Bryce Young's first two passes were so bad that air traffic control had to report them.

Honorable mention: NY Giants. That coach is going to get fired before October. Did you see the interception Daniel Jones threw to Van Ginkel? How does that happen at this level of football?

No change this week. Carolina somehow looked even worse. Bryce Young looked like he was about to cry after throwing a pick. He had 84 yards passing.

This might be the worst football team in NFL history. Egad.

Jets are B A D

They’re not Giants/Panthers bad. It’s a two horse race for the top pick at this point.

Giants losing Gano really hurt them. They are leaps and bounds ahead of Carolina.
And honestly they might be better than Washington. If they lose in NY, Washington could pick as high as 2nd.

Also Denver looks awful. Possibly not in the QB discussion, but they're in the mix for a top pick.

Denver - at the very least - had a CHANCE in the 4th Q of both games to tie or even win. I think they are a far better team overall than Carolina, but the Panthers might look a whole lot better under Dalton, a sentence I never imagined I'd ever type out.

Tennessee might be moving into this conversation too; Will Levis is a bottle of mayonnaise personified.

Who is the presumptive #1 college QB ATM?
Carolina will trade down since there isn't a bonafide No 1
Besides the Panthers already have their franchise QB
They invested at least two 1st round picks for Bryce Young, you can't close the book on him at the start of Week 2 in his 2nd NFL season
Bryce is just about 18 months from the conversation switching to extension like some other QBs we've seen in recent years, gonna be exciting to see this kid climb that mountain

As I wrote in another thread, it might be time for Carolina to secede from the NFL and play somewhere else
Tepper should be the poster child for the 10-year rule
31-68 now, you go 10 years and don't make the Playoffs as an owner then you are forced to sell the team and step down
It's not fair to the fan bases that are held hostage in these cities
Bad predictions even happen to the smartest of the FBGs

You didn't see the sarcasm when I was writing this?
I have been one of Tepper's biggest critics in here, went right after him when he took over the Panthers and ran Rivera out of town without a plan in place
It's been downhill ever since with Matt Rhule and the rest of the head coaches there in the last 2-3 years

I was definitely making a joke that Carolina found their franchise QB
"gonna be exciting to see this kid climb that mountain"...I'm taking a big swipe at Tepper and the Panthers there
-"Just 18 months from an extension"
I thought everyone would see the humor here

I'm here for all things that bury Tepper. He's now taken the torch from Dan Snyder as the worst owner in the NFL.

Cleveland defense is too good to keep them from getting the #1. And if Watson keeps stinking up the place they’ll put Winston in who can gunsling them to a win or two. Cleveland also gets to play the Giants in two weeks at home. They lose that one then they’ll certainly be in the running for #1
So Cleveland did manage to win one last week but got spanked by the Giants of all teams today.

I believe TEN is 0-3 and JAX is the only other remaining winless team now going into their game Monday night

Well well well, what a difference a QB makes! 1-2 Panthers get their first win over the toothless Raiders and are no longer the NFL's worst team by record. That distinction now belongs to the Tennessee Titans who watched their former 3rd round QB light them up through the air and on the ground en route to an impressive 14-30 defeat. Will Levis continues to make head-spinningly stupid throws to the wrong team while occasionally showing glimpses of a pro QB. Since he isn't being taken seriously by DCs, the Titans' run game amassed a total of 33 net rushing yards. That is not a misprint.

I imagine another couple weeks of futility and they might be sellers at the deadline. Jeffery Simmons could fetch some nice trade return. Probably some other defensive players attractive to other teams and really, what are they doing with Hopkins. Set him free.

Honorable Mention: Cleveland Browns. Desultory loss to the Giants who sacked Watson 8 times. It looked so good to start! 7-0 before people finished parking their cars. And now their best player might be lost for the season? Terrible start and I can't imagine it gets better.

Yeah, if Jax loses again tonight, they will get a mention in here. That said, I'm actually considering a small wager on them tonight to get their first win. Small. Very very small.

Weeks 1 and 2 always feel like they set the tone and then we spend the rest of the season trying to figure out what's real. Most of the teams that have looked absolutely putrid have also shown flashes of looking competent for a half here or there on one side of the ball or the other. Which is like half the league.

Net points:

-46 Carolina- Didn't get a chance to watch yesterday but I won't be buying them as anything other than cellar dwellers for a while.
-39 Miami- No Tua and no defense. McDaniel better get his head out of his *** pretty quick. Driving the Corvette like a 15 year old with 5 beers in 'em.
-34 LA Rams- everyone's getting a pass due to rebuilding the D and injuries galore on the offense. Stafford can make stuff happen though.
-30 Tennessee. It's early but Levis is running out of time to start making smarter decisions.
-23 LasVegas. They are who we thought they were. Baltimore game proves that it's still an "Any given Sunday" league.
-19 NY Giants. Nabers is not sneaky good, he's game changing good and Singletary is a man.
-19 Houston- Yes, Houston. I was told they were good?
-18 New England. After two competitive games against good competition, the leaky OL finally gave out and the D doesn't have the depth to overcome injuries.
-17 Cleveland. Defense and the OL are not the strength we thought they'd be. Need to watch some Watson to see if he's as bad as reported.
-14 Washington. I don't believe they have enough talent to do much this year but that could be wrong.
-12 Atlanta. This team has enough talent to make some noise.
-12 Dallas - eyeballs emoji. Elite D is looking very non-elite.
-8 Jacksonville- we'll see tonight
-7 Cincy- we'll see tonight
-7 Baltimore- the OL might have just needed some time to gel. Looked pretty good yesterday but might be very capable of some stinkers.
-4 Chicago. Would have thought it was worse than this but the D has kept them afloat. Like everyone on planet earth with operating senses, I'm pretty sure Waldron is very, very bad at his job.
-3 Indy- Exceedingly mediocre team that will be good if A Rich starts to put it together.
+2 Tampa Bay- I'm not a believer but they don't need me to be.
+4 San Fran- right in the middle of a swoon that they'll probably pull out of.
+6 Denver- eyeball emoji. guess I better watch a game. low points against...
+7 Philly- Thankfully for them, seem to have snapped out of their funk from last year. Look slightly energized. Need AJB back on my fantasy team though.
+9 Detroit-
+13 KC
+15 Jets- The DLine won that game IMO. Aaron developing trust with weapons here plus two very good backs. I wonder if Hackett and Rodgers are just legitimately good with each other in a way they're not with other people.
+18 Arizona- Better than I thought they'd be on D. Offense can put points up.
+25 LAC- Defense is legit and they're getting a lot out of their offense. Get well soon Herbert!
+25 Pittsburgh Defense is legit and Fields is doing just enough to keep the O functioning.
+27 Buffalo. Defense is way better than I thought they'd be. Allen won't be denied. Hope for their sake they can keep it going.
+30 Seattle. Did NOT see that coming. Undefeated.
+55 Minnesota. Mea Culpa. Sam Darnold, we are not worthy. Brian Flores who I thought was good when he was in NE then seemed to really stumble in Miami, seems to have really found himself. Good for him.
+59 New Orleans Saints- faltered yesterday. Carr also the object of much offseason slander.. The drumbeat this offseason was that Dennis Allen was a dead man walking. Guess not.

MNF Seattle at Detroit should be a fun, early season game. I think Seattle is a bit of a mirage. Got home wins against Denver in their 1st game with Nix (a game that was closer than it needed to be) had to go to OT to beat the Patriots and toyed with Miami using a QB that belongs on MTV Road Rules and not the NFL. Rubber hits the road for the Hawks in Motor City.

It's possible that I'm being bias here but if TN gets #1they might try to trade down? I don't think they are quite ready to move on from Levis after 2 years but maybe Callahan doesn't think that Levis has it and wants his own guy.

No longer the Panthers.

Titans are my worst team right now.

Bengals are better than 0-3.

Jaguars are absolute racoon trash.
