In an effort to get better RP, K's, and maybe lower my ERA.... I got rid of my 5th round draft pick Chone Figgins.

Chone, AJ Pierzynski, & JJ Putz for Mauer, Mad Max, and Jose Valverde

Our set up is 4SP, 1RP, 1P... with 3 bench, which I am trying to fill with a lot of SP. I fill like I am upgrading my C and RP (Putz, might get better but i am in last place in Saves, and need some to get back in the mix)

Pretend steals were not a factor, and you'd automatically get 2nd place in them... good, bad, even trade?

i like what you're trying to do, but even if you don't need the steals from chone, you should still try to get value for them. you only get one chance to trade away chone, so you gotta make it count when you do.

in general, i love the idea of having good relievers with "SP" eligibility in leagues with limited or no "P" spots. i think of them as "supplemental ERA/K insurance". b/c of that and your lack of need for speed, you should come out of okay, but i do think you should've tried for more.

Yeah, I agree with that... I really didn't know his true value... and that fact that he isn't coming off the DL 100% himself, makes me feel a little better (inside)I lead in steals right now, and blow in RP. I looked at other teams, and really didnt see another guy that did what Max does, and a way to upgrade my C and RP right now.

2 factors I didn't mention

1: I was going to pick up Chin-lung Hu who did the same thing as Max... and drop AJ to pick up Nappali... but that would cost me $$$ wise in my league... I feel i have donated enough money so far

2: I like to punch walls... so the more people I have on the HITTERS bench that do well, when another guy who is a starting position, makes me go nuts in my head
