Chopping the Superbowl pot (1 Viewer)

The last 2 teams in the league I am running want to split the Superbowl pot before their game is even played.

Was wondering if anyone else ran into this and how they handled it.

Whats the issue? You send them the same amount or whatever kind of split they specify.

Sure. Why not? We do that in our league all the time since there are no payouts for anyone but the 2 Superbowl teams.

What are you going to do, ask each guy to send you his bank statements in January to make sure the winner didn't cut a check to the loser?

You're the commish, you can decide whether or not to change the amount of the checks, but not much you can do if they decide to cut a deal on the side without you knowing. I'm surprised they even asked you.

I don't care if they agree to split is before the fact but in a dynasty league having "co champions" on a trophy is pretty lame.

I would just send it to the winner and let them mess with it.

Well we spread the money out so there is no "pot" sharing.. $30 entry fee, 10 Owners:

Regular Season Pay-outs - based on how the teams are ranked for the Playoffs

1st Place - $60

2nd Place - $40

3rd Place - $30

Playoff pay-outs:

Playoffs -

Champion - $100

2nd Place - $40

3rd Place - $30

By giving some away for the regular season it helps negate someone like myself who went 10-2 only to make a move benching Santana Moss for Crabtree and lost in the first round by 2 points.

Even with the stupid move, I'll probably walk away with $90

It was never your money, unless you as the commissioner won it, so how can you possibly tell these teams how to manage their money? Do you also check to make sure that they took care of the electric and gas bills properly since managing other people's money is a priority of your's?

I think you should remove them from the league. It's collusion.

I don't see any issue with chopping it, but that's totally reasonable too if it rubs you the wrong way for whatever reason. Just let them know that's your plan now.
