Chris Henry (1 Viewer)

Obviously the suspension affects his value but I really feel strongly that once he comes back, he will have a major impact on this team. CJ isn't getting any younger and Henry made a bunch of big plays last season. I think he could be a major sleeper on draft day given his suspension.

Does anyone agree with me?

I think he's one of the best value picks this year. he's a stud when playing and catches a high percentage of TDs for a WR3. Love him (again) this year.

I tried to get him in my Zealots leagues (dynasty league). I think he finally gets it and stays out of trouble. He will be the #2 in Cincy after this year and puts up big numbers.

I picked him up as insurance for CJ. Rooster spots are tight, so I am not sure I can keep him, but will try.

We just finished our inaugural 50 round draft.

I had the last pick, Chris Henry was my Mr. Irrelevent.

I am hoping good things from him.

how many games he out again? Im sure the over/under is 4, but I dont know if its 8 again or just 2 or something

didnt that last charge get dismissed anyway? or was that 2 arrests ago?

Great pick. Even with IDP, he's a top-40 WR when playing with plenty of upside left in him if he can stay clean.

What makes you guys actually think this. I think the oppisite will happen... he got in trouble, Cinny let him go and said "We will never take you back!", the rest of the league black balls him... and sure enough, who comes crawling back... his old team that said they would never take him.The Kid must feel like a GOD right now... I bet he just gets in trouble again.

I'm in a 12 team league and I picked him up off waivers. He wasn't drafted because no one thought he would get p/u by a new team. We drafted August 17th. He allowed me to trade away anotherWR for more RB depth. Hoping he keeps his ### out of trouble and puts up big numbers

I like him a lot in dynasty leagues, but I don't really like Cinci's offense for this season and that combined with his suspension makes me hesitant in redrafts.

If you have a deep roster grab this guy late in your drafts and park him. CJ is playing with a torn labrum. Just wait till he tries to make an over the head catch or takes a shot to that shoulder. I have a feeling CJ will be on IR by the 2nd quarter of the season which coincidentally is exactly when Henry will return.

I agree that Cincy's O looks shaky but if CJ does indeed call it a season and Henry becomes the starter his upside is huge.

If he stays out of trouble I think he could be in for some production this year. He is suspended for the 1st 4 weeks. With CJ's and Housh's injuries, Cincy's inability to run the ball and their poor defense, I think henry will see lots of #'s this year and next.

I honestly believe that going into next year either Housh or CJ isn't still with the team and Henry is the #2 so if you're in a keeper league snatch him up. Housh will be a free agent after this year and Cincy will not pay him and Chad top dollar so they will be cutting one of them loose (I believe it will be Chad) leaving Henry there to pick up the pieces.

I'm predicting 850 yds receiving and 8 td's this year for Henry if he can stay on the field and out of jail.

you would think at some point the light would turn on for him.

I agree. I think there's really only two possible outcomes. a) he realizes his mistakes and get serious, or b) he feel invincible and will continue down his path. we have no way to know how his moral fiber is knit, but one would think he'd learn his lesson after one arrest. getting arrested AGAIN, kicked off your team, then re-signed by that very same team, IMO, will only lead him to believe he's untouchable. I think he has Michale Vick disease and will only learn by being punished for his actions. I hope I'm wrong because he's ultra talented, but statistics of repeat offenders say otherwise.

I agree w/ his chances, and they're not good... but I hapily have him rostered because of his potential when (if) he does play. At least you know when he's NOT playing. He'll never get you a 0 on your starting lineup.

Any thoughts after Wk1 on when/if to pick up Henry off waivers (both dynasty and redraft leagues)? The offense looked abysmal but it won't be that bad all season right?

I'm pretty conservative and our league is set up to discourage player stashing. We start 3 WR's each week and you can only have 6 WR's on your roster. Further, there are no trades allowed and the waiver wire is only opened every 4th week. This format really punishes people who don't have functional depth so every player on your bench had better be ready to go.

Even with the 4 game suspension I was considering going with Chris Henry late. Once the news broke that Chad had a shoulder injury that sealed the deal for me. Chris Henry should be a great performing #3 when he gets off suspension, but if Chad is out and TJ moves to the #1 slot and Henry moves to the #2 slot he should be gold. Bottom line I picked him up in the 14th round even though it's a major gamble given our roster restrictions. The upside was just too enticing to ignore.

I always look to add FAs like Henry a little before others start considering it, but I think Cinn is in for a long year and Henry quite likely won't have his "normal" value this year.

At a minimum I want to see another Bengals game before picking up Henry.

I just saw this thread. Picked up Henry last night on the WW. In my opinion, most teams should be able to have roster space because he'll be back by the time bye weeks start (well, I don't have any byes week 4). Personally, I give him a huge bump because I'm 99.99999% certain CJ's shoulder is going to cause him to miss serious time this year. One hit - one fall on the hard turf and he'll be done. CJ will be starting quickly when he gets back, and will be a GREAT WR3 for the sharks that sold their souls, err, got him..

Ugh. I picked him up on waivers last week, but it's hard to see any value in any Bengal right now or at all this year.

Good posting, my sentiments exactly. My thought is, however, the Bengals really can't be much worse than they are right now. Once the team starts gaining some momentum, he will have some value. It may be marginal, but at this point I am willing to take that chance on my WR5. I think once Cincy gets its passing game going there will be enough to go around. Here's to hoping they improve quickly.

Preseason I was big on pretty much every Cincy offensive player. Fortunately I walked away from the draft with only 1 Bengal, a late flier on Chris Henry. I still think Cincy rights the ship as the season wears on and they square off against easier defenses. I'm not hitting the panic button yet but I would be if I had Chad Johnson, TJ, or Palmer in my lineup.

Preason I was 90% sure getting Henry would pay off big, now that's down to about 45%. It will still be 3 weeks before Henry sees the field and I expect the Bengals to be clicking by then. That's simply more time to watch them and make an informed decision.
