Chris Henry's Big Day (1 Viewer)

As I suggested a couple of weeks ago (post #29), this latest Henry legal episode is over.

PFT is reporting this morning that-

"According to media reports emerging from Cincinnati, the charges against Henry have been dropped.

Apparently, the prosecution made some preliminary motions, which were denied. After the decision was made, the state dismissed the case."

Haven't been able to find a media link yet, but that's the poop.

He'll get signed by someone. God knows what opportunity he'll get or how long he'll last, but he'll get signed.

IMO, Dallas makes the most sense. If that happens and Henry can keep his head out of his ###, the Cowboys will be strong like wood.

Oh, I agree, and it could be right here in Dallas (UGH!).

Henry charges dropped

July 14 09:34 AM

Profootballtalk.com reports that the assault and battery charges that resulted in his indefinite NFL suspension of wide receiver Chris Henry have been dropped. The original trial ended up in a mistrial and new motions by the prosecution were denied, which lead to the dismissal.

Fantasy Spin:

This is a huge break for Henry, as this will mean that the suspension should be lifted, which means he can sign with a new team. Expect the Cowboys to be at the top of the list of potential suitors, and he has stated that the Saints would be an option as well.

Who really knows though?

Are we completely certain the NFL suspension will be lifted though?
No. Goodell has made clear over time that while he certainly watches what happens with criminal proceedings, he's not limited to the outcome of those proceedings. We'll see though. There will be a lot of pressure on Goodell to make clear what his position is because Henry will want to sign with a team during or before training camp, and that probably won't happen with him remaining suspended indefinitely.

:goodposting: Goodell is going to be put in a tough spot here. Suspending Henry this time and the charges were dropped. If he doesn't lift this suspension I see no way that he does not suspend Brandon Marshall pronto...
