Dont overreact after 3 games ...I'm seriously about to drop Hope for a LB...what's the deal with him lately?
Will you be saying that after 6 games?8 tackles3 assists1 passes defended0 interceptions0 force fumbles1 fumble recoveriesI'm just wondering why he was ranked so high and has yet to produce much of anything...You'd overreact too if you lost your week by 0.14 points when Hope couldn't even manage a tackle (or anything) in the final three quarters.Dont overreact after 3 games ...
Is there a place on the FBG site where I can find this kind of raw data? (I've decided I'm going to ruin my career in favor of geeking out on IDP this year.)Thanks.Rushing attempts against per game 2007 >>> 18.3Rushing attempts against per game 2006 >>> 31.6Total offensive snaps faced per game 2007 >>> 36.67Total offensive snaps faced per game 2006 >>> 66.38
He got his two tackles in the 1st quarter and then I never saw him again, not even on the replays or anything. When I did see him it looked like he was deep in coverage. I seriously thought he was taken out of the game...He's on a bye this week and I'm finding it really hard to keep him on my roster right now. I don't have any offensive players or extra kickers to drop to pick up a replacement eitherI didn't even see him in the game Monday night.... I had him against me in a close game, and I never saw him..... and that was when NO was behind alot and Deuce was out.... so lots of nickel/dime packages.... never saw him.... don't think he had a point in the 2nd half.
I think a lot of this has to do with game factors. Hope is their SS, the primary DB who will be in the box during blitzes/rushes. They were up at least 10 basically the whole game, Deuce was hurt, so they knew they were gonna pass probly 80% of the time until Bush could do something. With this in mind, Im pretty sure they played it safe and Hope was protectin the pass.I have Bullock and despite his low tkl #'s (yes, I know he had 3 INTs) im not worried. Hope should be fineHe got his two tackles in the 1st quarter and then I never saw him again, not even on the replays or anything. When I did see him it looked like he was deep in coverage. I Dont Think Sooo....But there should be!!!Is there a place on the FBG site where I can find this kind of raw data? There is not. Takes some extra mousing and calculation than it used to with the new NFL.com site, but the team stat pages and gamebooks are still a wealth of information for looking a little deeper than the boxscore. Is there a place on the FBG site where I can find this kind of raw data? I spent about four hours last night checking to see how much extra information a person gets for waiting four, five, and then six weeks on IDPs, and I wrote up an article on it. I sent it to Jene to see if FBG would be interested in it (and if not I'll just post a link to it here). Bottom line was that, using only past performance as a forecaster of future performance, you don't gain a whole lot of extra info past week four. There was a bit of a jump from three to four, and then it actually fell slightly.Having said that, you must, of course, check to see if the factors causing the overly high or low stats can be considered temporary, and just looking at past numbers is more reliable when talking about lb's than db's (and least reliable with dl's, whose numbers are pretty volatile).Bottom line: I'd be tempted to cut Hope, depending on who else is available. Part of Hope's problem, I assume, is that the Titans are a better team than they were last year. In 2006, the Titans went 8-8, and while Hope had an identical number of assists in those games, he had 11 more solos in the losses than in the wins. There's too much of a drop off for that to be the whole thing, but a) it's part of it and b) that's not going to go away this year. They are a better team.
He's on bye this week. Maybe next week.I dropped him this week in a shallow bench league for Atari Bigby... this is good news for all you hanging on to him, he'll blow up this week! YWIA!
I don't have him, but I would probably cut ties with him if I did. Assuming there was a better option out there. So is it at the point now to give up Hope?I don't think I can justify keeping him with this many better options available.
Anthony - The million dollar question then becomes... will this trend even out? Or will the Titans continue to dominate time of possession and stunt their players IDP value???They simply aren't getting as many opportunities to make plays because the defense has not been on the field much.
