Chris Johnson 2012 (1 Viewer)

He's not matchup proof by any means, but I would need some damn good options at RB to bench this guy going forward. Houston week 13 is a little scary but at this point he's actually one of the most dependable backs in the league so you really can't sit him. And other than that week you're looking at a gravy schedule. I'm expecting some more huge weeks.
At this point he pretty much is. This was one of the worstatchups you could start him against and he had a great game. The fins hadn't allowed a 100 yard rusher in 22 games so his day yesterday was no small feat. He played poor at the beginning of the season and deserved the derision, now he's playing like one of the top 5 backs in the game and deserves the credit. He's 7th now in my league which is likely where most people drafted him. He's a must start top 5-6 back every week.

After week 10 (10 games for the Titans):

Assuming 1 pt for 10 yards (running or receiving), 6 per TD and ignoring fumbles CJ currently has 124.8 points. He had three awful games to open the season, but he didn't really hit his stride until 5 games ago. His projected season fantasy points and RB rank using the whole season, last 7 games, and last 5 games

Season 199.68

Last 7 222.51

Last 5 239.28

Rank 2011 - 7, 5, 5

Rank 2012 Projected - 10 (really 11 but I've excluded CJ Spiller), 6, 5

I think the last 5 (or 7) games are more indicative of what he's going to do going forward than the first 3, therefore I expect him to be a solid top 10, borderline top 5 RB on the season. Considering that Steven Ridley, Doug Martin and Adrian Peterson are all in the top 6, CJ projects to be the 4th best RB out of guys drafted in the first 2 rounds (if you drafted one of those 3 guys in the top 2 rounds, bravo, but you are in the minority), behind Arian Foster, Ray Rice and Marshawn Lynch.

(Edit) Reformatted the "table"

Tale of two halves.

I drafted him in a few leagues and he helped put me in an early hole. Since week 6 or so, he's been winning games for me.

He deserved every bit of criticism for his horrible start and kudos for his recent success.

He ran for over 100 yards against the Bears, Texans and Dolphins, all have great run D. Dolphins had not allowed a 100 yard rusher in 22 games before yesterday.

Yep, he's a must-start, every week, regardless of opponent.

Agreed. I traded for him so I didn't have to suffer the downs with him on my team, but he deserved all the heat he took to start the year. He also deserves a lot of credit for turning his season around completely.

Everyone comfortable with CJ now as a RB1 rest of the way? Except for this week matchup against Houston, @Ind, Jets, @GB doesn't look too bad. I'm guessing everyone's trade deadline has passed so either you're all in with him or already traded him away.

Starting Bryce Brown over him this week, but the next two weeks he will be in my starting line-up.

That's several not very good weeks in a row.

has the offensive line degraded to the point where he's back to potential liability status?

He's always been "potential liability status". No way of knowing if he's going to break a couple of long runs and have a monster game or put up a complete stinker.

Potential juicy matchup this week against the Jets.

Not an ideal week for him to #### the bed, in prime time.

Weeks 1-6 with 4 stinkers and 2 OK weeks.

Weeks 7-12 with 3 great weeks and 2 OK weeks.

Weeks 13-14 have been awful.

Hopefully he'll turn this one around at such a critical time for us FF playoff teams.

I traded for him and this is the absolute last time he will ever be on one of my teams. Runs like a total wuss.

He's playing with a second string OL and QB. Not much to look forward to. Locker is horrible!

I haven't been watching, but have read the OL has been better lately.Locker not playing well comes as zero surprise to me though, since he will almost certainly be back it will be a reason to stay away next year.

Better? If I'm not mistaken they have 3 starters on IR.

Could be mistaken, just remembering reading a tweet about it from one of the guys on PFF. I don't have any piece of the Titan offense because I didn't trust Locker in August, so I won't say for sure one way or the other. Just haven't followed.

Are you sure this wasn't from a few weeks ago? The O-line had improved from the beginning of the year(and with it CJ's performance). But then the wheels fell off at the end of November.

Guess it could've been, thought I read it last week but not being invested in this offense I don't pay as much attention to what I read and when as I do players on offenses I am invested in.

Four starters are om IR, Amano, Ball, Hutchinson and Otto, Roos (the other tackle) is Questionable.

it could be argued that Amano should not count as his injury was so long ago, but then his replacement, Velasco is now sliding over to Guard and the third stringer Kevin Mathews (son of Bruce, the OL coach and HOF'er) will start at center.

To call this line a work in progress is an understatement.

Personally it appears that his numbers are tied to Locker. If Locker is under center then CJ is not a good start because teams have no respect for Locker and stack the box to stop the run. If Hass is starting then defenses back off a little and CJ has some room to maneuver. The sucky thing is that Locker is "the QB of the future" so he will get the starts meaning CJ is worthless.

In the 5 games Hass has started and finished, CJ is averaging over 100 rushing yards and 6.2 ypc.In the 7 games Locker has started and finished, CJ is averaging under 50 rushing yards and 3.2 ypc. :yucky:

Doesn't matter what other stats you have. This is the end of the story. Good post.

Just saw that CJ is gonna auction off the shoes he wore on MNF and the proceeds will go to the Sandy Hook support Fund. Before the game, Chris hand wrote the names of the 20 kids killed in the Newtown, CT shooting on the shoes, and scored a 90 something yard TD (which was the longest in MNF history) in them.

Very cool.

2nd longest I believe, still cool nonetheless.
