Chris Johnson and Arian Foster are elite RBs that were top 5 picks in dynasty leagues and redraft leagues. They each had their concerns leading into the year with the holdout and injury, respectively.

Now, both have started incredibly slow and it seems their values are going down for some. At this point, which guy do you like better for this year and for beyond? One guy isn't injured but is severely underperforming through 3 weeks. Some say it's the holdout others say it's lack of effort and others just the way the team is calling plays. But, he's still the clear lead back as Ringer hasn't done anything either. In Houston, Foster should be back but has had this lingering injury and Tate has come in and lit it up in his place.

So, let's hear which guy should carry more value.

I go elite talent over elite situation in dynasty. It's more a mixture of the two for me in redraft, leaning towards situation.

Having said that, I'd go Foster this year and CJ3 beyond.

Wow, tough question. The guy who is in at best a timeshare with Tate, or the guy that got paid and is satisfied? I went with Johnson. At least part of his job isn't getting taken.

I love how Foster is just seen as a guy in a great situation. Believe what you want, but Chris Johnson's situation wasn't bad.

Arian is the easy choice on both. Less mileage, better build, more complete back.

Added one more question since the top 2 are going in opposite directions and the last one should be interesting to see with opposite answers short-term and long-term.

Foster in all phases and I don't think it is a close call.

Foster is younger and has a lot less mileage and he is an all-around back. Like Jamal charles, one knee injuries that robs Chris Johnson of his speed totally changes things in his long-term outlook. Situations change in a blink, but you might as well take that while you have it too and right now the Texans seem to have it in spades for a while.

Both have done great things in a short period of time but I will take yardage leader/touchdown leaders over the guy that had one spectacular year. Those guys seem much more consistent (like Emmitt Smith types) that keep doing it each year vs up and down guys with the one big year (like Jamal Lewis types). That's not saying both won't be very fantasy relevant for a while. I just like the consistency across weeks (and hopefulyl across years) that guys like Foster brings.

Foster has had one good year. What is consistent about that? If you are talking weeks, I'd be happy to see some data that supports that.

What does "mileage" have to do with RBs at the ripe old age of 25 or 26?
