Do you honestly think that music doesn't sound good?
Music is subjective. But I would argue that musicianship is less so. I submit that Traveller is an objective example of incredible musicianship, regardless of whether you like the music.
Honestly? I can totally appreciate what goes into it but I the long run I found it boring and unoriginal. I'm sure he/she have a crapload of talent but I heard nothing that blew me away.
Genuine is an excellent word to describe Stapleton's sound. Everything he plays/sings sounds authentic, and in stark contrast to most of the music on the radio today . Take the song linked below for example, written by Stapleton. Listen to his version compared to Tim McGraw's below it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eE6YTaFmsQ4Seems more genuine than most of the stuff going now.
This link is dead but I thought Civil Wars was great, appropriately named band since they just couldn't keep it together. It's a shame.
