Cinci homers, your color announcer is hysterical! (1 Viewer)

I was driving home from Kentucky yesterday and picked up the Cinci- Brown game. I have TO so I listened to most of the game through Ohio. I have never heard a bigger homer than the color guy for Cinci. This guy even had my wife laughing with his comments.

Who is that guy? He was hysterical..I really enjoyed listening to him.

You're talking about "Lap" - Dave Lapham. Played OL for the Bengals in the 70s and 80s. A true homer in every sense, but loved around the area. He's actually very good as a color guy with analysis, but has the folksy delivery to go with it. He does color for college games as well.

When the pressure was on Palmer you hear him scream in the background "Get rid of it" When a Brown receiver dropped the ball he said "good" The guy made my drive.

LOL yeah I do miss hearing him now that Sprint doesn't have the NFL radio anymore :lmao: Half the time you know something exciting happened but you don't know whether it's good or bad until a few moments later :bag:

Lapham is the best. I live in the Cincinnati area and listen to him on my cell phone FM radio during the game, even though they are a few seconds behind. He is actually very knowledgeable about football. (he does some Big 12 games for Fox too) When a guy gets the wind knocked out of him or takes a shot to the nads, he says that they are in the "seven point stance." Years ago when the receiver Eddie Brown ( who we took in the draft over Jerry Rice) was a rookie, he caught a long bomb and was being chased down the sideline. Lapham was still pretty raw, and while Phil Samp ( the longtime play by play guy) was trying to call it, Lapham was screaming, GO EDDIE,GO EDDIE!!!!! really loud in the background the whole time. One of my favorite Bengal memories, thanks for indulging me!
