I like Chad too and it troubles me as a Steelers fan. Why is it that I can't stand TO and his antics but find Chad's antics amusing?
I don't think you can put TO and CJ in the same class. It's obvious by watching them that one of them is all about himself not caring about what his teammates, coaches, leaguemates, or fans think and the other is all about having fun playing the game he loves and values his job, coaches, teammates, fans, etc. It's okay to come over to the other side a little ;)
how is it obvious?Seems to me the hall of fame stunt was all about Chad, not about his teammates at all and disrespectful to those who make up the Hall's membership.

Edit to add that TO and Chad are clearly not in the same class...TO is a hall of fame lock, while CJ has many years to go.
When was the last time CJ flipped off another player or his fans? You dont' hear about CJ missing practices or coming late whenever he feels like...he is one of the first ones there and the last ones to leave. The HOF stunt (while I thought a little lame) was all about having fun and entertaining people. Don't get me wrong...TO has talent and he's a great player, I just think he's a jerk and don't think CJ comes across anything like that.
fair enough.CJs stunts are all aboput CJ though...don't fool yourself.
As a Bengals fan (although even if I wasn't...I would still like CJ b/c I think he is good for the game) at the end of day a win is a win so if doing a riverdance, jumping in the DawgPound, putting on a fake HOF jacket, etc. all motivate him to score more TD's...I don't care if they are all about him or not.
Let's be clear, TO didn't flip of the DB last week. it was his index finger that was pointing down, watch Inside the NFL for a perfect angle to see it(camera was behind the DB). CJ made an a## out of himself last week, dumb celebration, and I'm sure all the real HOFers were  He needs to stick to playing ball, I think a lot of people are getting tired of his LOOK AT ME B.S. :kicksrock:
My bad...we all know TO has always been a great example of what it means to be a team player. Good thing he will always have fans like you for those of us who have mistakenly characterized him as a tool
I never said I was a T.O. fan, you're saying C.J. is not like him, and I'm saying he is becoming more and more like him all the time. The HOF jacket was a slap in the face to real HOFers, he needs to respect the game, he only wishes he was in the ballpark of a HOFer.... :lmao:

Watch the someone bring mace and spray CJ = out for rest of the game.
= Gassing everyone else in the area with blowby and getting their asses beat.... not to mention going to prison for assault and possibly using chemical weapons in a public place or some other trumped up "terrorist era" charge. Surely nobody's that stupid.

:pickle: ...and here come the crotchety old fan patrol showing up right on cue. Any HOF who can't take that joke and views that stunt as a "slap in the face" deserves every bit of stress it causes them as they are more self-important that CJ. And the whole "people getting tired of his shtick" is BS. I think he's growing on more and more fans (as evidenced by this thread) as it's becoming obvious that he's a good natured guy just goofing around and having fun while trying to entertain the fans. Outside of the celebrations he's practically a model teammate. I fail to see how someone could be so uptight as to not enjoy the :30 seconds of shtick after the dozen times a year the guy will get in the endzone each year.

...but I'd love to see him dive in there. I predict the Browns fans would be good sports.
When I first read this title, I was like... "Would that be good for Chad's health?"Hopefully they will be.Although, perhaps if Chad got hit or something he could file a suit for enough money to cover all his celebration fines. Maybe that's his plan... :P

A look at this weekend's pla by play of CJ's TD:

'Johnson down the sidelines, 30, 25, 15, 10, TOUCHDOWN!'

'There he goes, leaping into the dog pound...... wait..... where'd he go.....'

15 minutes later....

'a ransom note has been delivered to the Bengals sideline requesting the offensive line and a better coach in exhcange for 85.....'
The Bengals will be in trouble then, as that's something they don't have! :P
Lewis isn't better than Crennell?
I would be willing to bet Romeo would've done more with that team than Marv has.

While there are a lot of crotchety old guy who hate CJ I agree that it's really hard to dislike the guy. Always smiling... dumb as a brick but has fun with it. Never mean spirited.... talks trash but in such an over the top goofy manner that ya can't help but laugh and shake your head.Bottom line is : he's good for the NFL.
I don't think he's dumb at all. I think the guy is a genius and I mean that in the literal sense. I think the extent to which he makes some people think he is dumb is all part of his act.

I'm far from a crotchety old white guy...:lmao:Like I said, it's getting old, it was fun for awhile but the HOF thing really put me off. Get out your kneepads for CJ if you like, dude made an a## of himself Monday night IMO.By looking at your avatar, I see how you feel about the integrety of the game....

I definitely don't think he's a genius, but he's definitely smart.

from the guy next to me in class: TO ruins teams while CJ's teammates love him

Anyone catch Ray Lewis on NFL Live today? Rod Woodson asked him if CJs antics and talk (specifically the HOF jacket stunt) upset anyone on the Ravens D or Ray himself. Ray basically said that Chad keeps the game fun, and that alot of fun has left the game over the years. He called CJ a great player, a great individual, and he loves watchin him play and finds him hilarious.

Then they showed a clip from the MNF game of CJ trying to take Ray on head to head at the goal line during the MNF game (I think it was on a running play), and Ray flattened him. Ray pretty much ran right through Chad. CJ laid there on his back grabbing his helmet for a second, then went to the sidelines and said to a coach (paraphrasing here) "Did you see who I went up against on that play? I got Ray one on one -- and I lost. BAD!!!!"

Ray cracked up and said that was the first hed seen of the footage. He said he didnt even realize that it was Chad that he hit on that play, but that he was gonna text Chad after the interview to mess with him, since Chad texted Ray earlier in the week before the MNF game and said he was gonna be looking to lay a hit on Ray.

:lmao:

Chad :hot:

I would like to have seen Tatum Bell try that in Oakland after his TD.
If Tatum Bell did it he would get turf toe or bruise his ribs and miss three weeks.
Are you serious? He'd get his ears ripped off, eyes poked out, teeth busted and if they pulled him up high enough he'd be given a wedgie so bad he'd never fully get his jock strap out of his crack. Half of those guys look like they're still packing shanks from their time on cell block D!
