Clash of Clans (Official thread) (5 Viewers)

Someone posted this chart quite awhile back that show graphically the increase in health, damage per second, and the cost of making units as you upgrade them.

I was wondering, has anyone decided to not do particular upgrades because of this? The wizard upgrade from 5 to 6 in particular looks like a poor one. All the other levels you gained 20, 35, even 45 dps for an increase of 500 elixir training cost, but at level 6 you only get a 10 point dps increase. Same with health, every other wizard increase was around 15-18 with one level give you 22 health, but level 5 to 6 is only 8 extra health.

I'm wondering if the increased cost just isn't worth it for any of the upgrades. On the one hand the army build cost goes up, but on the other... more damage and health are more damage and health. I guess it comes down to whether you find yourself needing to focus on earning a lot of elixir at TH9 and TH10, or whether you're generally rich in it?

42 for 90 versus 22 for 25 right now. These guys are pretty awful. Pretty underdeveloped bases and some crazy layouts. (Goblins in war CC!?) Some insane attacks as well.

 
They seem to be going with the +15+ attack strategy as their #7 just used 34 L5 wizards and his L6 BK to take out our #29. That's some desperation right there.

 
They've resorted to throwing insults and water balloons the last couple of attacks.

It's ugly

Honeypot #3 all day long with a couple of archers.

Hey guys in the Boog, did you see any instances of a valkyrie fighting attackers at a distance where she was swinging but unable to actually damage them? Saw a bug posted in the CoC forums.

They said enough it was clear that the valk was attacking and fighting a CC troop, not defending. Could be her old logic is still at play defending, but it's the new kill multiple building stuff on attack that is the only problem.

 
Jumped the gun on my TH8 upgrade. Seemed like 8 days was about right to get most of the rest of my TH7 upgrades done, but really I should have waited at least another week.

 
Looking for input. Would you recommend upgrading L1 Dragons, or invest in upgrading BK? I would need to upgrade DE first.

I am at L4 Barbs, Gobs, Arch, Giants, Balloons,and Lightning

Level 2 rage

I usually attack w/ Giants, Arch, Gobs with WBs.

Is there a priority list?

Dragons if you are participating in wars.

 
Getting BK to 5 is a big help for both war and raiding. But if you're not close yet, like thecatch said, L2 dragons would be a bigger help in war for now.

 
But I would have to use 1.2 in elix to move dark elix to level 2. I think I will go L2 Drag first, and then build L2 DE storage. Thanks for the input.

 
I want back in to FBGs when the opportunity arises. Got a new iPad, locked out the old one. Everything back up and running. Joining Boog until I get a chance to get back into 1

Sorry SoCal. If a spot opens up between the first two wars we'll save it for you. Barring that, several spots always open up right after the 2nd war.

 
Not happy with the shuriken base suggesting the DE drill outside the walls. That baby's going deep inside. I'll probably just domino some storages. I'm usually hoarding either gold or elxir, but not both.

Mine is inside. And you don't need to upgrade the extra 2 storages you can make and have them inside your walls until the very end of TH8. Build them now, maybe upgrade them to level 2 and leave them outside your walls. People will almost never get any resources if they attack them, and they'll distract goblins and take fire for you.

This clan we are warring with is a joke. Are we going for 150?

Also, I mentioned in the clan chat but I can rush with 10 L3 Dragons and whatever 25 troops in my CC (right now there is conveniently a L3 drag hahaha) and easily take out my -5. The +5 is a total joke. I'm gonna assume I should hold off a bit and see what shakes out in the first couple hours?

 
I miss fbg2 already. As soon as my son gets up to ten in his clan I will come back. Upgrading like a mofo in the mean time. Squirrellegion4eva!

 
"This looks like one of the tougher clans we've faced"™. I'm sure they have... um... intricately thought out bases that will be much more trouble than anyone anticipates. And they are from a very Catholic country so they probably pray a lot too. So they got that going for them.

Go plus 5 and save some dragons for your second attack if you can. That's how we roll even for these push overs.

Awesome, will do. This is my first FBG war, don't want to mess anything up!

 
Agreed, stick with +5 and save resources. Everyone 3-stars the first attack and then everyone can use the 2nd on a high level base and we'll have more loot overall as a clan.

 
By the way, someone (Aiden?) said this morning he was making valks and L6 wizards for us. So check his camps to see what he made before we start spewing them out and he gets stuck with a bunch.

I put my drill outside. I put it near my th and virtually every attack I face is a quick hit against the th and drill. No one has gone after my storage in a week.

the drill itself doesn't need to go inside unless you don't check it for a day IMO
 
So with ja not having shown back up, should we set up a new honeypot? If so would should it be? I kind of like them not being able to get a star off our TH10s, so maybe smliteguy? He'd be someone they could probably hit for 1 star for a big loot bonus, but whose defenses are tough enough that a 2nd star might be tough still.

Done. My town hall is now out in a corner, honeypot trap in place.

Started from the bottom and worked my way up - I'm just about done. You guys can finish off the rest.

 
Guys, I'm having a problem.

Just went to TH8 and as completely in need of elexir... Drill + Drill L2 + Dirll L3 + Lab has drained me, cannot even afford to research anything. What kills me is that I'm wasting gems boosting the Elex Collectors.

Now the real problem is that once I get above 1.5M some idiots always raid me, and steal like 300k+ so I'm always getting stuck! Don't know what to do. Also, raiding is really difficult here as I can only target TH7s... And they usually have a pretty good D, which means I have to spend in average of 60-65k just to get a 100k elexir loot. Meaning 40k profit per loot... :/

10 times to get 400k, and then I'll get raided in between...

Please let me know if you have any good suggestions... This is killing me!

Don't even know what to do with this war. Usually I do 2 drag raids which is like 400k of elexir... :/

The first couple weeks of any TH upgrade are the worst. You are in over your head until you can grind out some upgrades. It happens to all of us.

Best I can give you is what you are already doing. Keep your gold low, many people don't see the ROI on raiding just for elixr.

The beginning of any TH level always seems that elixr is more valuable because of troop upgrades and now DE, but in the long run, gold is where it's at. Just keep plugging away.
