As a pretty darn close to maxxed 10, I don't get ANY real attacks at all. Been living the shieldless life every sense the big update. I'm in gold at the moment... love it... no one attacks and there is plenty of loot.

I was in masters 2 for a bit. Got hit just as much there as anywhere else. Could be my base sucks, but I can't find a good one to steal and im sure not making one myself

It's in a couple weeks. Plan is to have four clans each play each other and winners and losers play right after.
Someone did one of these with 8 clans recently and they matched every single matchup but one.

Well for one, the shield system vis a vis clouds in high leagues is a massive issue. Say what you want about anything else but the clouds have made titan/legends unplayable. They have to address this.
They need to discuss at least how loot will look long term. The cuts in league bonuses and the way they are hiding inactive bases is ultimately going to lead to a loot crisis. The boost period has helped but if it takes double collectors to make loot insane then that's a problem.
Balance is off for th9 and th11 and I'm not sure they can fix this easily. Mass witch even with the hotfix is still extremely op with even a L1 warden. Double poison has made clan castles obsolete and has led to th9 wars being pretty boring.
Balance for th9 farming is an issue. Superqueen is unstoppable and I can hit a th9 take all the de and not give a shield, do this 4 more times before running out of healers and rages. This isn't fair. People are having similar success, as it were, with all gobs and jumps with a much higher roi and nearly constant raiding.
Agree on the high-level clouds being an actual issue.
People have complained about a lack of loot forever. They'll tweak the balance issues with every coming update. I don't see why they would address any of these topics in a video.

I understand why they are doing this. First, they likely want people attacking for less loot. That's the main reason, but setting that skepticism aside they likely did this because they didn't want people to come back to completely 0 loot after 2 days. With the shield changes xbows and infernos are emptying very fast. Two full raids can empty them. Then you are a sitting duck.

Looks like the big news video is an advertisement for a new Supercell game called Clash Royale. Suppose to be an ripoff of Clash of Clans focusing only on head to head matchups except the progression within it is heavily based off of how much money you're willing to dump on the game.

Wars are becoming a little less fun with the demise of TH9. Seeing random clans cleaning TH9 with ease using ####ty armies that didn't use to work. TH10 are an insta 2 so even if it takes them a few bullies it's not a big deal.
So wars then come down to rebalancing on the TH10/11 count mismatch. So if you have the TH10 count edge you can just sort of try to wait out the other clan to see if they get the big triples or not, and if down it just means you have all the pressure.
I actually don't think it's that TH9 got so easy that is the issue, it's that TH10 got so much easier to 2 star that most clans have basically 6 or 7 bullies to use and honestly I don't know how they fix this.
CC poison needs a massive nerf. At a minimum they need to remove stacks. That would probably reset things back to normal. Maybe turn up the HP of a few different air defenses.

As a 40 year old guy with less than zero programming experience, how would one go about getting a game developed? Assuming you had an idea that you thought was on par with Clash of Clans.

I downloaded and dabbled a bit in dominations this weekend. It was designed by a disgruntled COC player that was the former developer of CIV2. It's nearly identical in concept down to the terminology. There are a few, but not really many, game play improvements, but it's a little rough still and I just deleted it as I had no intention of really going far with it.
I mean for all intents it's clash but you pick a nation to be that gives you bonuses and special units that are specific to that nation plus the wonders and stuff that give you bonus, etc. etc.
So there's people out there that can pull this off for you with the right idea.

it's cheaper than you'd think to get offshore people to do programming and development. call any customer service 800 number, when they pick up ask if they have a cousin who knows how to program games.
(apologies to all customer services folks whom i may have offended, the first part of this post is serious, the customer service part not serious. i work with lots of offshore resources, it's an old office joke.)

I played domination for about two weeks, off and on. It kinda sucked, despite ripping off every decent aspect of CoC and introducing some potentially interesting new aspects.

I played the new game a bit, it is Ok. Not something that seems likely to hold interest for a long time though. Not a card game at all, the cards just represent what troops you have available in the fight.

I think it's always been "attack the highest target you think you can 3 star" for th9s. 2star attacks on th10s are a reasonable target as well, but that depends a bit on the number of th10s we have on our side.

Just a quick and simple question:
Is it better to cash in your cc war loot immediately or leave it in the cc?
Seems to me I offer more if I have loot in the cc but don't know for sure.

Depends. If you're loot capped (2.5M of gold/elixir & 50K DE at TH9), then empty it. If you're under those thresholds, don't empty it. If you have a mix of capped and uncapped

You don't get credit for the achievement unless you empty it. Once you get that it's gonna depend on some factors but for most part you never want to hold any in there.
