It definitely takes some patience. There are also tons of freebie bases with like 70k or so of each that dont look like big scores but for a few goblins it's worth taking them down as well. Time of day seems to matter as well. I have the best luck early in the morning and at lunchtime.

Full right now. Sounds like a bunch will be returning to FBG1 after the war though

Good to know. I usually play in the evenings on the west coast. I go for anything over 20k gold and minimal walls/defense, and raid with high frequency for an hour or 2 while watching sports.

Anyone have a good sweet spot for raiding, non-sub 200 for TH8? I've been bouncing around 1000-1200 at TH7 and found plenty of targets. Now at TH8, I've only seen a couple of 100k/100k targets in that range, and they weren't of the easy target variety.

I have been back at sub 200 now for about an hour and a half. So far, I have had two raids that are considered sub 200 raids. The rest of the bases are locked down like fort knox. I see no signs of simple 150/150 bases. The ones that have the loot have skull walls. Some nice purple wall bases to hit but not with my 190 gobs. 
Add to that, the fact that I have been attacked for real 4 times already losing 39/172, 90/269, 3/88 and 9/77
It was safer for me up in Gold 3. People only poached my th

I started at about 9:50 EST with 180k gold, 54k elixir and 7800 DE. Now I'm sitting on 1.8k gold, 1.2k elixir and 9400 DE, and that's after starting a Dark Barracks upgrade to L3. Ok, huge section added to OP with explanation of how clan wars work. If I missed anything important let me know. Schedule at the bottom of it.
Also added a new section to OP of some of the stuff it took us awhile to notice or figure out how to do. Like that you can dump troops in single player, the arrows that let you move between barracks troop queues without having to exit each barrack and click on the next, etc. Any other ideas to include there, post 'em.

What types of bases are you hitting. Are you gob spamming or real attacks. You may have said it already but I dont remember

Great job summarizing important points!
quick feedback:
1) the link to the old thread is broken
2) regarding inferno towers, you can visually note the difference (like with Xbows) : multifaceted vs single circle on top
ETA: inferno towers also need to be refilled (DE). Inactive inferno towers are greyed. This is more obvious than en empty xbow, so less important to note
3) it would be great to get the roster updated. I know you intend this and it will take time!

Straight goblins, no real attacks. I'd estimate that I have hit "next" several hundred times, but obviously that's paid off. I've also spent most of the time at sub 150, not sure if 200 is a real cutoff point or going even lower puts you in a better spot.

Thanks, first 2 taken care of. I included some links to pages that show the different graphical images.
Probably won't get to the roster until tonight earliest. I want to get a list from the game itself and then merge it in with the existing list so we have everyone in there, not just those who have spoken up.

If FBG1 wars twice, and FBG2 wars once a week, FBG1 is going to be a back-to-back issue anyways.I'm not a fan of FBG1 going back to back like that I guess. I assume that is to reduce the amount of clan switching for those that want to do 3 wars? I'll survive

Another tip: If you have him, and you're trying to drop trophies to get sub200, use your BK instead of another troop that would cost you elixir.

It is really subtle compared to the others. I think the first indicator is like a single gold coin that you have to probably zoom in to notice at all.I was not aware of the gold mine fullness visual indicator. I was convinced that there wasn't one.
I once found a page that had all the images for the same level of collector along with what percentage the image kicks in. Did a quick search but didn't find it so went with the one I posted, but that is just showing the last 3 stages, doesn't show you the 20% full images and such.

Sub-200 seems really hit and miss. I just spend an hour and a half and didn't get many decent targets. Then my buddy called and in 10 minutes I had guys trophy drop on my 12 times and a legit attack for 30k elixer

The low levels folks are welcome to stay. That was a thought that some folks had thrown out that we aren't going to carry through with.

Nope. Revenge only works once. If you are attacked, you can then go back and attack them at your time of choosing provided they aren't online or don't have a shield. But once you revenge they can't come back at you again.
You may sometimes notice someone has attacked you and there is no option to revenge. That is actually someone that you attacked first and has now revenged you.

For those interested in switching clans to war:
- If you make your attacks in a war and then leave before the war is over, all of your loot will still be delivered into your clan castle. So feel free to finish your attacks and then move even if the timer hasn't hit zeroes. No resources will be lost. Of course, you may lose the ability to bask in the afterglow of victory.

I'm probably going to slow down quite a bit. I need to bump up all my barracks to 2Pekka/2Dragon so I'm doing that 2x at a time and will try to couple that with the long AA/Tesla upgrades.
I figure I'll just do the cheap spell lab upgrades when L3 Hog finishes in 9 more ####### days. fml

Worth mentioning to be sure... it's important they not start the matchmaking until the previous war is completely ended. If FBG1 hits start before FBG2's war is fully ended, anyone who was in the FBG2 war and switched clans would be excluded from the FBG1 war.
Basically they only let you be in one active war at a time. Though you can jump clans all you want, you'll get excluded from any new war while the war you were already in keeps going. So just because all the spots are already filled up doesn't mean you can hit matchmaking early if the other war isn't done yet.

I already have planned a glossary for all our abbreviations.
Though I'm thinking we need to add some terms like:
Fudd - This is something we call a person who donates a lot of really awesome troops. I.e. "Thanks for the dragon, you're a real Fudd!"
culdeus - A term for when someone donates wallbreakers or goblins to your clan castle. "Last night I requested troops and logged out, only to come back and find out I've been culdeused."
Though I'm thinking we need to add some terms like:
