So I decide it's time for a new non-war base design so I can better protect my storages and incorporate the 4th mortar.

I check of CoC Builder and I have one simple question....why the **** does every single highly rated base have the TH dead center??? Does no one consider the TH outside to be worthy of upvotes?

All yours. I didn't get to it last night so I took 25 I think after 12 hours of war. Seemed like a better dragon target.

Nope. Last war bangkok bob came and did his attacks for him. This war it has been the kid running it I gather, and he 3-starred his +5 with his first attack.

2nd attack. He 1 starred his +15 after being asked not to drop so low.

This.He used my +5 to practice his buttwiping techniques.

And go only one star, right? So top it off.

Stuck at a big decision. All defenses are maxed, walls are 1/3 maxed, have 3 upgrades for barracks, and a hanfful of PIA lab upgrades considering the grind it will take. Move to 9 or be patient?

Should be. A bunch of us used to clan hop between the 3 and the password to get in is FFA or pie.

Just when I thought I had a great TH8 war layout because it makes it almost impossible to 3* with a dragon rush, I get absolutely blasted with 24 Giants and 30 wizards.

Anyone have a TH8 war base that maxed AD can repel dragon rushes with and not get wasted by a lame giant/wizard attack?

Yeah, golems are awesome. Super expensive, but awesome.

Level 1 & 2 golems can be picked up at TH8 but yes very expensive for a TH8. At TH9 it's much easier because you can push into Crystal for much better loot.

Although, this morning I've been seeing A LOT of TH8s in Crystal 1 & 2. Like every 4th or 5th click has been a TH8 today.

Boog lost to China 95 to 97. Potential last minute game tying attack lost internet in the middle of the attack, but unused attacks was an issue.

You have to take solace in the fact that he probably lost a ton of elixir in the effort.

giant or barbs will come out first, so if they're in range of defenses, they should tank. However, hogs are faster, so they will get to the front quickly. Any defenses that aren't in range at the drop point will probably target the front running hogs.

Just curious - why even use pekkas in gowipe? wouldn't golems and wizards provide sufficient hp and damage?

So, a question for the experienced TH8s here who routinely go all dragons.

I have never attacked an opponent with lvl 6 AD. If you take out one with lightning, can lvl 3 dragons be reasonably expected to take out the other level 6 ADs and three- star the base, given decent pathing?

What do you do in that situation? As an alternative, I could try hogs, but I don't have a lot of experience with them. Sometimes get three-stars, but sometimes zero with them. I am researching up my Pekka and Golem, but that won't help me today. No experience with Gowipe yet either.

What do you think is my best strategy? Give dragons a shot or something else?

Pekka are the combo high health / high damage part of the equation. Once you see all of your wizards get hit by a single mortar ball, or 3 of them fly to a spring trap, etc. etc. I think it becomes clear why they are needed. I think a GoWi by itself would be too fragile to get the 2* even though on paper the DPS would be higher.

Dangit if wandering Pekka aren't the most frustrating thing in the world though!

3 zaps and a heal should work. Maybe get a lava hound in the cc to absorb one of the two remaining ad

I am a TH8. Only 3 spells, and 25 spaces in my cc. No lava hounds possible. 3 zaps, no room for an additional heal spell.
