Clash of Clans (Official thread) (3 Viewers)

I wonder how long till people adjust bases a bit for air hits?  Most bases to counter bowler/healer pushed sams to the outside and turned bows down.  Going with a deeper queen and getting away from inferno moats and things like that will change the game to an extent.  

To play seriously though I'm not really going to gem heroes, so there's not really going to be any reason to farm them.  If MW wants to have another maxed base in the mix they will have to come up with the $$$.  

 
So the CWL did a 50/50 TH9 only TH10 only and TH11 only FW. 

The hit rate in the TH10 group was 1/53.  

My account was in the TH11 group. Rate there was about 11/45 or so.  Exclusively air with a somewhat beefy kill squad.

It seemed to me that all of the TH11 3-stars were against non-max 11s. How many of the TH10s weren't maxed out?

Was the TH9 one a 100% tie?

I dunno.  Do you have a base in one of these?  I didn't see any streams or anything.  Max TH11 are pretty rare.  They added a lot of 14day content just in the last 3 months.  It's fairly unreasonable to expect to find 100 Max TH11, but TH10 hasn't had but maybe 3 or 4 things added in 18 months of any consequence, off hand I can't really even think of but like 2 things.  (bomb tower and a jump to mortars?)

The bases that seemed to get steamrolled at TH11 were mostly still setup to try and stop the TH10 2 star and/or had down bows still out of sheer laziness, not that they were underleveled.  If the account is still in that clan I'll take a look tonight and see what it looked like ultimately.

Sound like Bora is quitting and Taz is going to drive his account too.  I think this guy has the keys of half the accounts in the game now.   lol.  

It's funny, people think my name is Jason because I made a swim through a lot of clans with that account.  All of a sudden people are like WTF you took Jason to 11?????  I guess they friended it or something and thought I was the same person.  He could have sold that #### for a 40/40/20 with cash leftover in hand easily and had better walls.

You need to open a service ticket with them. They will send you the 3 or 4 things you need to do. The most important is being able to know when you started playing and locating your original first gem receipt.

No... cashman has a max th9 and hanging it up for the time being.   Just seeing how simple it is to get it transferred to a dummy account so I can use it for war.

I transferred Jr from my wife's gamecenter on iOS to my Android dummy account very easily. 

  • Open Clash of Clans on both your Android and iOS devices (source device and target device).
  • Open the in-game settings window on both devices.
  • Press the 'Link a device' button.
  • Select OLD DEVICE on the device you would like to move your village FROM
  • Select NEW DEVICE on the device you would like to move your village TO
  • Select which type of device you want to link your village TO. If you are linking your village from an iOS to an iOS device, use the Game Center User Guide. If you are linking your village from one Android device to another Android Device, try out Google Play Guide located here: Google+ User Guide.
  • STOP!!!! Before you proceed, please make sure you have played through the tutorial and not made a purchase before TH4. Read the VERY IMPORTANT NOTE located above.
  • Use the device code provided on your OLD DEVICE and enter it on your NEW DEVICE. You have a 5 minute window of time before your code is invalid!the other, your village will be on both devices.
  • After you have successfully copied the village transfer code from one device to the other, your village will be on both devices.
 
Wow!  This is amazing to me how long this game is lasting.  That's awesome that you guys are getting your money's worth.  I don't miss the game itself (and stress of failing!) but I do miss the team and banter!

I've lost that loving feeling, but it's still the best "on the road" game in my arsenal.

I think I've probably packed it up for good.  I came back to test drive the prior update, but don't really have any appeal and really don't miss it aside from the chat banter and things like that.  

I get the sense that the game has a big core group that will just ride it out for the moment, shockingly, to me at least Clash Royale started hot lost momentum and now has roared back and is the top freemium game out there as far as I can tell.  I think there's such a long road to the top that the player base is going to struggle to expand in clans.  Don't really see clans over taking royale anytime soon.  

What's interesting is some of the retirees from the groups I used to run with have said how much fun they have with you all.  Of all the groups I ever got around FBGs managed to be the very closest to a casual/serious war clan with just the right amount of try hard without burning people out.

Some of the burnout for me is that to compete at the high levels it takes so much time, then you pretty much have to be online in the last 2 hours of the war if you are at the top townhall.  That gets old.  Wait 22 hours for 2 hours of straight panic.  Was fun for awhile when the war scene was jumping.  Got old.

The other side is the semi-causal war scene where every high end base is a ring in a ring in a ring. Pointless to sit around and try to basically play a game of plinko to hope your balls fall into the center of the drop zone, rinse, repeat.

So can pick between un-interesting bases to hit in war on your own time, or semi-interesting bases to hit on someone else's time.  Neither right now are all that appealing.

Yeah the road to the top is so long I can see that it would be really hard to get new players going. Royale seems easy enough but then again you have the luck of the draw on cards.  

Anyway if any of your other buds want to swing over let us know we have room. 

 
Looking for suggestions on lab upgrades at th10.   I've done a lot of the obvious ones, am finishing freeze5 now, and hound3 is obviously going up soon.   Archer, wb seems worth doing, but after that I'm not sure of priorities.     

BK going to 32 now, and he'll barely come up for air between now and 40.

Will probably get back to warring soon.  Maybe pause my Bk upgrades for a couple of days between levels so I can get a war in every week or so.

I said on GME, there are a few new mods out there that use private servers to do the sandboxing so nothing hits supercell's radar.  

The easy fix to this would be to restrict you joining a second clan while in prep or war day.  I don't know if that's something they would really implement but otherwise this will keep running as it is as long as the private servers keep making enough money.

Rough order of magnitude, how much does it cost to sandbox on a private server? I love the game like the rest of you and have invested some $ into it but some of these things that are done to "win" are ####ing ridiculous.

When the first private server came out I heard that access to it cost $1000 per year per clan but I've also heard it's per user.  I have no idea if that is the case now or not, and also I'm not sure how they manage things like identifying users and whether you can share logins and all that.  I know the way that InTheDark ultimately got taken over was because they got too loose with their extracts and someone hacked a phone and the rest is history.

Nadis supposedly made somewhere between 9-10 million before he quit.  And it's rumored SC paid him to go dark.  AFAIK he hasn't been heard from since.

This is also the reason they won't let you change clans during CWL.  They don't even want the hint that something is going on.  They don't really even want you changing clans for the whole 2 months, which I'm generally ok with.  It's a nice event and they do a really good job of policing the mod stuff.
