Wins over Cincy, Baltimore, Miami and St Louis.

Lost to the *Pats by only 17, the closest game New England has had all season. And it was 10 with just :45 seconds remaining.

4-3 :goodposting:

Not to harp on this fact, but they are 1 blocked FG away from being 5-2 in that Oakland game (or a stupid timeout rule where Dawson actually made the FG). Offensively, probably only Indy and NE are better, with Cleveland being very similar to Dallas. Defensively, they have a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go, as their front 3 are terrible, the safeties are playing like doggie poo, the corners are underachieving, and the LB's are struggling.

Definitely looking forward to the match up with the Steelers. Competitive Steelers/Browns games are a lot of fun. It's been a while.

EDIT: And looking at their schedule the rest of the way, there's not a lot of offensive firepower. Dare I say, playoffs?

The browns have got to be the most suprising team this year! Remember how everybody said the dallas pick would be a top 3 pick before the season? I'm loving it, not only are my browns playing well, but they are also fun to watch!! I can't remember the last time that was true!!

Have you watched any browns games this year? He's not too far off with that statement...The Browns have alot of talent on that side of the ball, their O-line is miles ahead of where it's been in the past and Lewis is showing he still have life in him... On one drive they converted 2 or 3 3rd and more than 10's in a row.. After seeing the Patriots destroy everybody week after week i'm becoming more and more impressed with how the Browns played them.

:lmao:
They average 28 points per game, and that includes that opening week blowout handed to them by Pitt. I feel they will score every time they touch the ball.

A guy in our league is trying to trade Anderson for a top wr or rb but i would`nt consider it if he was`nt cemented as the starter....also what is his worth in a 6 points a td plus 1 point every 25 yrd`s?

Good to see the cross-town "cursed lake erie" team doing well. I still don't think they're in the same league as Pittsburgh, but avoiding what I thought was a predictable road upset is a nice start.

With their improved offense and a favorable schedule the Browns could definitely be in the playoff hunt. Their downfall will be their defense though.

They don't face the Bengals, Rams and Dolphins defense every week.
No, but they do face the Jets, Bengals, Texans and Bills.
The Bills have a pretty good defense, far superior to the other three in that list.I think what several posters are trying to say is that the competition has enabled the Browns offense to appear to be more potent than they actually are. Keep in mind that the Browns likely caught some of those earlier teams by surprise. Better teams will be adjusting to try to take the Browns best weapons away, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the offense have to work harder to score points in the second half of the season. Still, being a fan is all about having optimism, and good for you that the Browns are respectable again after two winning seasons since 1989.

The next three games should let us know how far the Browns have progressed. The "old" Browns would almost certainly lose all three, home vs. Seattle, at Pittsburgh, at Baltimore. If the "new" Browns win two of these three, they could be headed for a 10-win season. Win one, and 10 is still possible, but 8 or 9 is more likely. Lose all three, and it could get ugly again.

Sorry for the :goodposting:

But they couldn'ta done this last year so I can see all my Browns games in sparkling clear High Def?

Screw you CBS. Cheap Bastages. And screw you Directv, charging me $99 for the Superfan tchotchke so I can watch the one game yesterday that wasn't HD.

Steelers fan here and am happy for the Browns. They are exciting to watch now but need alot of work on that defense. Don't write them into the playoffs this year but next year I believe they'll give Pitt a great run for the division. Also, they need to waive Jamal Lewis; he's not the answer. Spend some $$ and get a better back with no prison record.

What hell is up with Derek Anderson? Did he look that bad in training camp that Frye looked better than him? He's truly been a diamond in the rough there.

The offense IS really that good.

Our line is really improved, we have spent a ton of early picks on offense and it is finally paying off. It is amazing what quarterbacks can do when they can plant before they throw (which you can't say many Browns quarterbacks had the opportunity to do).

I'm loving it!

i don't want to take anything away from the Browns, but if you watched their game against New England, the Pats seemed to get really bored during the middle part of the game and really backed off the intensity. i don't think that game was as close as the score looked.

Anderson has made some nice plays, but Edwards and Winslow are making incredible catches all over the place.

the defense is, shall we say, not playoff caliber.

i'm really encouraged the Browns are finding ways to win the games they are "supposed to win", and i really hope i'm wrong, but i think they'll fall shy of the playoffs this year. they are just not a complete team yet.

Both Frye and Anderson are about the same in my opinion. Frye is a QB that works very well out of the pocket. Anderson is a great pocket QB that has a great arm. I think Anderson is no better than an average QB. Ask any Browns fan, the first couple weeks he started, he made bad reads, bad decisions, and bad throws. His receivers bailed him out. Since then, his confidence has taken off, and now, he is making better decisions, and some great throws. When he makes a bad throw, the receiver bails him out still. I hope he can continue, but right now, I see an overachieving QB with sky high confidence, and a great line not letting the defense touch him.
