Cleveland RB Jason Wright (1 Viewer)

Can someone shed some light on this kid.

Any shot at backing up Lewis?

Is his roster spot secured?

Any shot at 3rd down duties?

Or has Harrison pretty much locked all those up?

As a backup to Lewis he has some dynasty value. Otherwise I'm not sure he's even worth a spot in a deep league.

Harrison is bulked up and renewed and I expect him to seize the backup role this year. Wright merely competent, a lunchpail guy - Harrison offers upside. I wont be surprised if Harrison is an RBBC with Lewis by December.

The Browns like Wright enough to give him a 3 year contract extension and he looks about the same as RD did last year. Harrison was sent to the practice squad last year because he couldn't block and with the oline problems last year, he was a liability.

Harrison hasn't locked anything up and neither has Wright. The coaching staff has mentioned that they would like to get Harrison more involved in the offense but the fact that the Browns did not pursue a RB in the draft or FA tells me they like both these guys.

My guess is that Harrison (if he has learned to block) will be the 3rd down back. He catches better than wright and is more explosive. I think Wright will be the guy who gives Lewis a breather from time to time and will serve as the primary backup if Lewis is hurt. IMO

I always thought the weight was what was keeping Harrison from being an every down type of back. IMO the added weight makes Wright obsolete for the Browns.

Adding weight will help a lot for Harrison but if he still can't pick up the blitz then he won't see the field much. His blocking is very poor.

:hey: It's Harrison's pass blocking that got him on the bench last year. Insiders say he'll see more PT this year, but if he can't pick up the blitz, he won't see more than some COP duty. At this point the back-up job is up for grabs and Wright has the edge.
