Cleveland TE Moore (1 Viewer)

My buddies love Moore on Cleveland.

Watson did pretty well last year and Moore just got a new deal.

Former hoops players playing TE get football folks a bit too excited sometimes.

I haven't followed him. Hit me with some thoughts here please, thanks

Extremely fragile. Has been on and off my 16 team roster 3 or 4 times. Has had concussion issues amongst other ailments.

Probably not a :football:player.

He should do well this year. But long term Jordan Cameron probably has more potential in that offense.
The Browns seem committed to TE's so I expect them to use Watson/Moore heavily this year and next. Watson's contract is up after 2012 (and he'll be 33) so it will probably be Cameron's chance in 2013.

Evan Moore gives off a Tony Scheffler vibe to me. He's talented, but he never seems to go too long without getting injured.

As a Cleveland fan, I can tell you my thoughts. Watson is the TE. Moore will get his and some of Watson's share of TD's however. He is a HUGE part of their redone offense. I think he is valuable in TD heavy leagues.

Dug this up from last year:http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=565149&st=0&p=12463967&hl=moore&fromsearch=1entry12463967I've seen him quite a bit over the years. The Browns are treating him as more of a WR than a TE - not really asking him to be a blocker at all. The common description of late is a "move TE", but he's more of a big body WR than anything else.Cleveland loves him, as does McCoy. He was lighting up training camp when Sirius XM was at their camp.

I've had Evan Moore on and off of my deepest roster, an IDP dynasty league that John Norton runs - 40 roster spots plus a five player taxi squad - I'm intrigued by his ridiculous YPR average (20.1 yards per reception last year) and YAC abilities, but he does get banged up a lot. Right now I am debating cutting either Moore or Shiancoe in that deep league but really leaning towards keeping Moore as he has a brighter future while Shiancoe's best days (with Favre) are past him IMO.

Moore is a wait-and-see guy like Ron_Mexico and MojoDawg suggest - he's worth rostering in a deep-bench leagues or dynasty leagues due to having strong upside potential, but he's not likely to put up jaw-dropping numbers right out of the gate (until the team deems he has 'earned' supplanting Watson on the depth chart). Though reports out of camp indicate he is a strong red-zone presence entering 2011, it is worth noting he has just one career TD in real NFL games to date...Jordan Cameron makes the future cloudy in CLE, but in dynasty terms he could pull a "Tim Hightower/Greg Olsen" type transition to another team and end up starting at TE and making a big splash elsewhere if the team trades/releases him in favor of Cameron.

High upside/but risky expenditure of a roster spot in shallow leagues, that's my take.

I disagree... I think he'll put up jaw-dropping numbers just about anytime he's out there. Heck, his first game he got 6-80. Had 3-87 in week 1 last year too (and a double digit PPR week 2)... He just won't be out there all that often. That said, I'll probably be rostering him again at some point this year.

Moore is a converted WR who is easily the best reciever on the team. Everyone in the organization acknowledges this, yet somehow they can't figure out how to utilize his talents. Hmmm...let's see- big, extremely talented ex-WR on a team that has awful WRs. Wow, I could never figure out what to do with this situation.

I guess that's why I'm not an NFL coach.
