Ministry of Pain

Footballguy

You can click on numerous stages, we have been streaming Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 very nice sound
101 degrees at the festival today, oof!
It's a dry heat

Tonight
Missy Elliot is on the Main Stage at 9:00/Midnight EST
Lady Gaga is set to play sometime after 11/2am EST

Listening to Lola Young right now, angry little woman listening to these songs
Better variety than the Ultra Fest last week which also streamed

This has the ability to do what you experience with the NFL Ticket and Quad box, ability to surf around and also rewind when you miss something or discover a group you like, you can back it up
Enjoy

Saw a news report on it. The line of cars to get in is a total nightmare. People interviewed from their cars had been in line since 3AM and it was approaching 11AM. 8 hours. I'd lose my mind at about 2 hours these days (stopped). No bathrooms or water, some suffering from heat stroke. Fans were pissed, wondering why they paid $300 for parking, along with the $600 ticket price. Law enforcement's comments about bringing in more resources and the like implied they were not very well prepared.

This thing's been around forever. How were all parties not more prepared? It can't be this bad every year can it?

Sounds like hell. Like Burning Man. Just younger. Replace the bonfire with a ferris wheel, some rotating live acts a mile away and cram it all into a weekend.

Only amateurs drive to Indio on Coachella Friday. Party starts Wednesday.

Here is the line up for Sat and Sun if you keep scrolling

The line up matches well with the Youtube channels you might be surfing
Not as good as yesterday for me, Green Day on the Main Stage at 9:00 PST/Midnight EST
Not familiar with most of the rest. We did find several bands/singers we were not familiar with last night, got some new records to purchase
Lola Young was outstanding and I would bet you can replay that set today. She writes great lyrics, felt real when she was on stage which is refreshing

Here is a direct link to the main stage from last night and you can back it up or fast forward and watch Lady Gaga, she's pretty incredible

Sort of a rock opera, not sure why I was reading "Satanic" and online backlash
She's light years ahead of most and I don't care for all her songs but the production value of her show is phenomenal

$600 per ticket
$300 for parking reportedly, maybe half for general admission but imagine shelling out over $150 to park

MoPs VIP section this evening including "8 Years in the Desert", free flowing cocktails and all the food/snacks you could want in the comfort of your home living room

Possibly overpricing parking to try to reduce the traffic problems - encourage people to pack together into fewer cars.

Do you only read your own posts? Or are you still frying?
 my apologies Harry, I had seen this ridiculous story about the wait to get inside and I neglected you highlighting these ticket prices

$1,000...we(Mrs Mop and Me) could buy 100 new records minimum since we like 'em used, hours upon hours of music to enjoy on our own time,
Where do they get the money?

I didn't pay anything close to this for Lollapalooza '93, $28.50 plus Ticketmaster which at the time was perhaps $2.25 per ticket which seemed like a lot.

Charli XCX was a ton of fun. Green Day’s been great so far (though I wanted Godzilla on Brain Stew). It’s 1:00, I’m out - I’ll have to catch up on the final Green Day’s songs tomorrow. Interesting how the guitar player is the least noticeable guy in the band. Drums and bass are so sharp, and Billie Joe is the right blend of album and live. It’s clear he could sing just like the albums still, but is playing around with the crowd a bit.

Cool seeing XCX blow up like this. Saw her back in 2013 at a small venue. My gf at the time was a huge fan and practically dragged me to the show. Think it was $15-20 for tickets. Never thought I'd see her headlining Coachella

Unpopular opinion and out of left field: Jennie's set on Sunday could be very good. Of course, she has the K-pop stigma attached to her, but she is an artist to be taken seriously, as you can see from the producers and featured artists on her album.

I'm watching the Charli xcx replay and they're showing the crowd. 99% of these idiots are filming the show instead of watching it live.

Phones are nice, but I'm so glad I grew up in the pre-mobile phone era for a whole host of reasons, but this one is on the list.

Oh, and while I'm at it, get the **** off my lawn.
Green Day asked the crowd a couple times to put their phones away and be in the moment

Meh, I just ignore them and enjoy the show knowing I have thousands of folks being my cameraman for free
