A couple weeks ago, the Pats (surprisingly IMO) smoked the Jets. It got me wondering how the game might have turned out if the coaching was different. So, let's say the teams / talent stayed the same, but the Pats had Ryan & the Jets had BillyB.

What say you?

Coaching is important - I always thought if you took any one of the Bills' 4 Super Bowl losses and switched the coaching staffs, the Bills would have won every time.

I'll start off saying I know and I agree that Bellichik might be one of the best coaches of all time...

That said, the Jets and Rex have beaten the Pats 2x in the past 2 years...

the loss of Jim Leonard 2 days before the game was devastating IMO for this game - In a secondary that was already with 3 new starters and never totally on the same page he was the little glue they had.

You can kinda overcome such an injury with time to prep but, the Jets had their game plan going in and playing Brady means you need your secondary to be smart and 100% on the ball.... The Jets secondary was a total disaster that game, confused and all over the place out of position with the 4th string CB playing saftey...

Hey it happens... And yeah the Pats are worlds better when it comes to coaching...

That said, I say the Jets with Bellichik coaching and the starting safety in the game makes it a toss up game somewhere in between the 1st game this year and the 2nd.

Coaching aside, it's GAME decisions where Bellichik blows people away... Rex can coach a defense as good as anyone IMO, but, calling timeouts, making reviews and working the clock is where BB blows him away.

I got the impression, when I watched the game, that the Pats' game plan was spot on, and the Jets' way off.
