#Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza became only the second FBS player with 5 passing TDs and a 90% comp. pct vs. an AP ranked opponent in the last 30 years.
Simply put…he was incredible vs. Illinois.

"I don't know that there is a ceiling right now, [Fernando Mendoza] has improved immensely, but as much as he has improved, he's got that much improvement he can make this season."

Some final thoughts on Mendoza today.
Inconsistent second half including a bad INT. He was absolute nails on the final TD drive. Took lots of big hits, but his faith in giving his WRs chances in 1-on-1 situations is great. Also showed plenty of mobility.

This here is exactly why Mendoza isn’t anything like Kirk Cousins as a prospect.
Two free rushers. Scrambles to his left and makes a toughhh off platform through. Genuine athlete.
But the running style is all people see. Kirk isn’t doing this![]()

Inconsistent day for Fernando Mendoza, but he showed up BIG when it mattered. Some impressive throws on that GW drive.
First 9 drives: 131 passing yards, 1 INT
Final drive: 87 passing yards, 1 TD

Mendoza had three big time throws in that first half. Big post to Becker down the field, great out route throw in the red zone and the dropped back pylon pass to Omar Cooper. He’s also using his legs to gain positive yards.

The sidearm throw to Becker when he was on the run was fantastic too

Great call.

Fernando Mendoza today:
22-of-24, 299 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
It’s his third game completing at least 90% of his passes this season, each with 20 or more attempts. Surgical accuracy.

#Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza in the red zone since 2024:
• 32 passing TDs (20 in ‘25)
• 0 INTs
• 67.4% comp. pct.
• 7 rushing TDs
It would be very surprising if either Tennessee or the Giants selected him, imo. I think Ward and Dart have shown enough to secure their positions. As of right now Titans, Saints, Giants, Browns, Jets and it would not surprise me if Tenn takes him.
I would definitely include Dante Moore in that tier (unless you are assuming he is returning to school). Mendoza has the safest floor of the 3, but Moore has the highest ceiling.I think Mendoza is QB1, followed by SImpson, then it's a big gap.
