McCoy caught my eye in the preseason as I expected the Browns to be throwing often. He was solid but unspectacular in the first three games. Truth be told, the opponents in those first three (Mia, Indy, and Cincy) aren't exactly offensive juggernauts.
This week we got to see what he's capable of in a blow out. His approach seems ideal to rack up points in games like these.
-He spreads the ball around. 11 different receivers caught a pass today.
-He is pretty careful with the ball. Terrible YPA tells me he will dump it off or throw it away rather than risk an INT.
-He uses the backs and TEs a lot. You can do a lot worse than getting the ball to Hillis, Hardesty, Watson, and Cribbs in space. I'm anxious to see how he does against some poor tackling defenses.
I honestly would have no problem using him regularly in a committee the rest of the year. I think he continues to throw around 40 times each game putting his floor around 200/1/1. Oakland and Seattle the next two weeks, these could be high scoring games.
What do others think? Is he available in most leagues?
