Commissioner Post - 12 TEAM LEAGUES (1 Viewer)

For those of you who play in 12 team leagues, what roster size and starting lineup configuration do you prefer? I'm currently commissioner in a 10 team PPR redraft league with 20 man rosters. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 flex RB/WR, 1 TE, K, DT. Don't think my league mates would like 20 man rosters with 12 teams. Thinking 16 man rosters starting 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 Flex RB/WR, TE , K, DT. A little thin but I would like the WW to be active during the season. Thoughts would be appreciated.

16 rewards people who play the wire well and 18 rewards the people good at picking sleepers when drafting.

Exactly because of wanting an active waiver wire and some decent talent in the free agent pool, I'm in two 12-team leagues with rosters only 14 players deep. We start 8 players 1QB/2RB/3Rec/1K/1Def (no TE required), so it's a bench of 6 players. Has worked out well for our group for over 16 years, but they're both old school leagues that are of the mind-set of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Play in a league that is going into it's 20th year. 12 team auction and only 13 roster spots. Starters are QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K, DEF with 5 bench spots. The league is TD heavy with the average score of a game ends up around 35-30.

Works for us and we have tried tweaking the rules over the years but generally any big changes are voted down. Everyone likes the structure of the league so we keep it simple.

If you're on the fence then add a flex. Gives more opportunities and flexibility to build a strong squad.

In a 12 teamer I'm in we start Q/R/W/W/F/F/T/K/D with a bench of 7 and it works out well for us. .

Make the ww a bid system with a hard cap & go with a smaller roster. This way adds more players to the FA pool, but restricts owners from just churning the waiver wire until they get lucky.

10+yrs of this roster set-up, and we've never had a complaint.

qb/rb/rb/wr/wr/wr/flex(rb/wr/te)/k/def

18rnd draft.

I don't like it any other way anymore.

12th year Redraft League, PPR

20 roster spots, start 1 QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1K/1DST

We use a $100 Real Money FAAB, which is opened on Wednesday night, and then $2 First Come, First Serve Pickups till kickoff (which also comes out of that $100 Real Money Budget.) Any unspent is returned to you at the end of the year.

Trades are $5 per team. It might be the culture we've established with our returning players, but it is the most active FA/Trade league I've ever seen, and the funnest league I've ever been a part of.
