Congrats to David Dodds (1 Viewer)

Congratulations David. I've been following your sites and reading your articles and checking out your rankings for at least 15 years. To say this is well deserved seems like an understatement. I'm aware of all the long hours you've put in with many sleepless nights. Battles with excel and some HTML editor just to get content on a page were surely part of it too. You've been coach-like within the FF industry by establishing standards and expecting wins in FF contests. Not many do that...oh standards are just not present on many staffs or sites. I applaud you for sticking with those standards so many years. Many things you did have been imitated throughout the industry in fantasy football and other fantasy sports. It's not always easy to let "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" roll off your tongue. I understand and enjoyed watching you see an imitation and improve the original to stay on top. It's been extremely impressive.I'm very happy for you. I hope you take the time to vacation on a sandy beach somewhere and soak this all in-put down the laptop and getaway from the desktop and just relax and soak all this in. It's been a long time. The culmination of everything above is, yes you deserve this award but dude THANK YOU and you probably deserve a vacation too!God Bless ya David.

I don't know, I just don't agree. He's a compiler.

j/k - Congrats, David - that's a pretty cool thing to be able to say. If they ever need an inductee based on a body of work making BGP look like a fool, let me know.

Congratulations David. It is a well-deserved honor. From Mr. Football to Footballguys you have always brought intelligence, innovation and a fan first mentality to your sites (loved your little humor toys).

As for those of you asking about Joe - he WILL get in. As a member of the Hall, I am asked to nominate one person who does not make the final 15 for consideration. Joe was my nominee this year. I am certain there are others like me that appreciate what Joe has brought to the hobby. Just a matter of time.

Congratulations, David! Very well earned.

I'm looking forward to being there for your induction in January.

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Can't wait to don the yellow jacket and put the bronze statue in the yard.
So that means when we beat him in these contests, we've now beaten a Hall of Famer! In all seriousness, congratz. That is super impressive, keep up the hard work I have a 3 year subscription ;)

There is a Fantasy Sports Writers Association's Hall of Fame?

Why?
Where is the Fantasy Sports Writers Association Hall of Fame?I'm making plans to visit all Halls of Fame and need to know.
Some guy's mancave in Sacramento. The busts are on a shelf over the kegerator and Dodds has dibs on the leather recliner with the built in beverage holder and the clear view of the big screen. Membership has its privileges. Congrats David - well deserved!!!

I started the original fantasy writers hall of fame way before this one started up.

I guess congrats anyway, I was considering you but just didn't feel it was your time quite yet.

I've come to the frightening conclusioin that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It's my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or de-humanized.

When you have a challenge and the response is equal to the challenge, that's called "success". But once you have a new challenge, the old, once-successful response no longer works. That's why it is called a "failure".

We live in a world ruled by fictions of every kind -- mass merchandising, advertising, politics conducted as a branch of advertising, the instant translation of science and technology into popular imagery, the increasing blurring and intermingling of identities within the realm of consumer goods, the preempting of any free or original imaginative response to experience by the television screen. We live inside an enormous novel. For the writer in particular it is less and less necessary for him to invent the fictional content of his novel. The fiction is already there. The writer's task is to invent the reality.

Thanx David.
