Tomlinson is almost the unanimous #1 RB, Peyton Manning is the consensus #1 QB, and Antonio Gates is hands down top TE. The FBG Projections will go members only in a couple of days, but consider these facts from the most recent projections:
Tomlinson is number one RB and its a separation of 44 points to number two, with number three being 70 points behind LT. The next 13 are within 70 points of number three.
Manning is 46 points ahead of QB #2. The next drop of 46 takes you all the way down to QB 13. Antonio Gates leads the number two TE by 30. The next drop of 30 takes you all the way to TE #9.
Curious as to whether anybody drafting 1st or 2nd in a 12 team league woould consider following the first pick of LT or SJax with P Manning and Gates in rounds two and three? Then grabbing a 2nd RB and their WRs in following rounds. Don't recall such a separation and such a magnitude of consensus picks at three positions.
WRs on the other hand goes almost to the 10th place to get the same separation as one to two at the three positions mentioned.
