I agree. Not only is Dez a headcase, but he is yet to have a thousand yard season or prove he is an elite talent. There are still 3-4 guys on this poll I would take over Dez.

Why isnt Welker getting respect?
Welker isn't getting respect because of his age and Brady's age. He really only has 2-4 year window of being an elite fantasy WR. However I voted for him here because in those 2-4 years I believe Welker will put up numbers comprable to last season, and that may win you some championships.

Went with Marshall because he's the #1 target. Welker has two TE's and Lloyd now. Jennings has Nelson/Finley and others. Dez has Austin/Witten. Cruz has Nicks.
He's also on the worst offense of the group, playing with the worst qb.
His last 2 years with Cutler in Denver he averaged 103 receptions.I don't think Cutler is that far off base from Romo/Eli.ETA: Being the #1 is a big advantage IMO.

In PPR, I really like Marshall. The guy caught 81 passes from a bunch of crap QBs in Miami. Now he is back with Cutler, with whom he had two 100+ catch seasons. In PPR, catch numbers are golden. I would be very surprised if Marshall doesn't catch at least 95 this year. And his TD totals should go up too.

I can see people favoring Jennings though as he is in such a good offense; the only problem there is the number of mouths to feed. Welker is a great PPR monster too but I can see the offense moving more and more to the two young TEs.

To assume Marshall is going to duplicate his Denver numbers with cutler is off based in my opinion. Pass heavy offense with shanahan to run based with Lovie smith and tice. I see his numbers staying similar to last year, with a slight uptick overallI also don't think there's a difference between being the only receiving option or having another quality receiver on the team. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

I never stated he would duplicate those numbers. You stated worst QB. I responded that the worst QB + Marshall have a good rapport.

4 yrs? more like 1 to 2 yr window, the guys takes a ton of hits and will most likely fall off the cliff instead of slow down. I would move him now.Theres a reason they haven't signed him long term

I did say 2-4. As in 4 is the absolute highest amount of time he can maintain his fantasy eliteness. I think you would be in the minority if you are speculating he only has one good year left. I'd venture to say most people think he has 2+ years of elite numbers left in him. Other than the knee injury, which he has clearly recovered from, he has stayed pretty healthy.

This
you can say he hasn't produced, is a headcase/immature and is injury prone, but to say his not an elite talent is simply not true.
Elite talent is incredibly overrated. At this level, lots of guys have elite talent. The difference can be as small as who is in the better situation and who is more mature/willing to spend extra time in the film room, can run a proper route, etc.Dez is no more talented than most of the guys listed. But he's shown himself to be a lot less mature. If everything else is equal, I'm going to go with the guy who seems to have his head screwed on right.

Love the Cowboys and am smitten with Dez's talent, but can't put him above Roddy, Welker, or Jennings yet because he has yet to put it all together. Relying on Dez as a #1 fantasy WR is a high risk, high reward move; one I'll let another owner attempt. IF however, I could get Dez as my WR #2, I would absolutely take a shot.

hes going to be 31 when the season starts, 32 is usually when WRs decline plus he takes extra punishment; pretty confident hes only got about 1 to 2 yrs left before we start discussing his end.last yr I put Wes on the trading block and the response I got was pretty bad

Went Kenny Britt.

I wouldn't trade him straight up for anyone left on the list.

I also wouldn't trade him for the following listed above him:

Mike Wallace

Hakeem Nicks

Andre Johnson

And it's iffy on Julio.

Went Britt as well......I think he'll be in most people's top 5 lists by this time next year.
