Corey Dillon (1 Viewer)

Corey Dillon = Green Bay Packers......makes sense to me. At least bring him in for a tryout - I thought I had heard he would come back to play for a winner.....6-1 and only short a bona fide runner....

Not going to happen.

It is too far along in the year, and they have plenty of backs as it is. Picking up Dillon, who hasn't even been working out, and doesn't know the offense wouldn't make sense going into week 9, with a record of 6-1.

I've thought for awhile that this would be the perfect fit for Dillon if he wanted to play. It just sounds like he doesn't want to.

I had heard the opposite. He is in great shape, working out and was trying to get the Bears interested a couple weeks ago...

WEEI Radio Boston & Providence is reporting that Corey Dillon wants to come back and play this year for the PATs.
Actually he also said he would play for the Packers. Don't see it happening though right now unless they can find someone to put on IR. Same for the Patriots. They have to activate Chad Jackson or put him on IR.Its not a matter of want but more of who either team would would be willing to cut or put on IR for a one year player.

Everything I've heard is that he's been working out, and trying to latch on to a team for a month plus. NE seems like the best fit at this point.

I wouldn't doubt that he is fully capable of returning but to be honest, I think the only option for him is NE. He wants a championship more than anything and NE is the best fit for that agenda.

The radio guys are reporting that his agent is telling people that Dillon would be "delighted" to play for the Pats and are treating it like breaking news here in New England. No mention of the Packers. It sounds like his agent is fishine now that Sammy Morris is out. He's a way better fit than Kevan Barlow who is the other rumor I heard.

The Pats seem content without Dillon, so don't expect him back in a Patriots uniform.

RB follow-up

By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

Patriots coach Bill Belichick made his weekly appearance on sports radio 850 WEEI in Boston today as part of "Patriots Monday" programming. During his interview, Belichick was asked if the Patriots might consider bringing in running back Corey Dillon.

Dillon's agent, Steve Feldman, said on Saturday that Dillon would consider a return if the Patriots were interested.

Belichick explained that he's happy with the four running backs on the roster, and it isn't in the team's plans to add a fifth running back. He added that a key part of the consideration is special teams, as the team has come to rely on the contributions of backs Heath Evans and Kyle Eckel in those areas. Eckel was credited with two special teams tackles Sunday against the Colts.
