TG. Well... certainly not the way you want to start out the year. Your speed receiver is now out. It showed in the Houston game. As far as the report yesterday that he was out for the year, apparently there was an over-reaction to the MRI. When it was looked into further they saw it could be much shorter. This is something new. It had nothing to do with the cyst that was removed. He looked good and was cutting well on his return to practice.

I think there's a chance Newman will be out here. It may have to be one of those things where you have to rest him during the week but play him on weekends. It's not the ideal situation but he is one of the better CB's in the league and you need him on the field. It may be like Deion and his toe in the mid 90's. Rest him during the week and play him on Sunday.

Newman did practice yesterday and looked good in his rehab. He was doing everything asked of him and that is usually a sign you are going to play

Jerry originally reported that Glenn was out for the year............but now he don't know.

Jerry: "Not much to talk about on Terry Glenn. He won't play Sunday and we'll evaluate from there. We just don't know. It was reported on your website last night he would be out for the season. I'm the one that reported he is out for the season on the website, but I just don't know.

Norm: When did we find out the knee was reinjured?

Jerry: I don't know. It's not reinjured. I don't have a lot of time today so this will be short.

Jerry is being a jerk which is not like him. Every answer to any questions concerning Glenn is: "I don't know," "I don't know," "I don't know"

He said they will not go out to look for another WR, they are happy with Crayton, Herd, and Austin.

Newman is playing this Sunday so is the linebacker Burnett.

Jerry seemed to leave the interview on a better note than he started. The Glenn questions clearly aggravated him and he was not in a good mood.Wade Phillips PC:

TGlenn will not play, another injury not related to the original, still gathering information. They really don't know what's going on. Discovered the injury during practice. All WR move up one notch. Crayton will be the punt returner too.

Newman did some running yesterday, but to be determine. Burnett and Newman will be game time decision.

Wade expect everyone to step up and play well, no excuses and no crying in football.

Crayton is very dependable, he find ways to get open, he plays outside also.

Doesn't effect TO, they expect TO to get doubled during the game.

Other notes from the JJ interview:

Jerry: I don't know about Greg Ellis. He won't play Sunday. I don't know. We don't know if he can return to form, but he knows how to play the game. Strahan is going to play after a layoff. I just don't know.

Newman I think will be playing from what we know. If he goes ahead and tears it it won't be an issue from week to week. He will play with pain but can play. Now I am not diminishing pain as it isn't yours or my pain, but he can play.

Kevin Burnett I think is going to play.

Given the injuries I don't feel any differently about this season. You have to expect injuries, it's part of the game, you just don't know who the injuries will be too. When I evaluate our chances as a team, I always consider injuries.
