CPAC Conference (5 Viewers)

I agree. And I’m glad to hear that conservative leaders are committed to fixing the damage that they have done in this regard.
But of course, they only need to fix the election problems that occurred with voting for president.  And only in a handful of states that Trump lost.  Other than that, things apparently worked just fine.  Which is just so weird ...that so many people are buying into the lie as selectively applied.

Today's activities -

Trump will speak, the left will get unhinged

The End
Maybe.  But there is some - perhaps even a lot - of the left that have moved on and won't give this carnival road show the oxygen and attention it so desperately craves.  It's like leaving an abusive relationship; I know the abuser will continue to abuse others, it just ain't gonna be me anymore.

Most of America has moved on.  A small percent has not.  The actions of those do not define the party.

same way the small percent of the gop that want to restore principles to their party does not define the party.

😂

Do you think CNN and the others are not going to cover his first public appearance since leaving office?  You're not going  to watch it, neither will I.  Something tells me plenty will though.  I doubt he comes up with anything new or unifyng either.

I think very few will watch. Most will read about it.

I think CNN is ridiculous.  And I've thought that for a while.  I thought their position to do their part to blast Trump and discredit his entire presidency was petty.

So I don't disagree with you, but up here in very liberal Portland, Or absolutely nobody is talking about this clown show.  Or Trump.  At all.  We moved on and I think a lot of the left has as well.

I’m not going to watch, because I know he won’t say anything we haven’t already heard before, and I don’t like the direction the party has decided to go. They have sworn fealty to a man who does not espouse the views they used to hold, and now anyone who does not do the same is basically excommunicated.

Yes, the rune is something every Twitterati idiot is wanking on about on since a few days ago.

I think a lot of people want to hear what Trump says. He owns the ratings almost everywhere. I'd personally rather he moved on for good, but his ego and the media's ratings won't allow that. The media loves to show freeway car chases out here in L.A. Everybody knows the inevitable conclusion of these chases for the most part, but they pre-empt all their programming so you can get a whiff of potential death. And it works for the networks. Idiots watch.

Trump doesn't understand that just getting to president was a miracle for him and that now he's cratered an entire party just like he cratered businesses. He inherited a goose that laid golden eggs and turned it into a sterile golden calf. There's no Chapter Eleven in politics. The Republican Party ain't coming back as anything but the odious slime that they've been the past number of years.

Of course I want to hear what he has to say. The guy owns 40% of America. I wish he didn’t. I was hoping that after January 6 he’d become completely irrelevant. But 79% of Republicans can’t quit him. So whatever he says is, unfortunately,  relevant to me.

But it is absurd that conservatives go around mocking the rest of us for being obsessed with the guy when they’re the ones who continue to bow and scrape at his feet. Conservatives are putting on this horror show; the rest of us are just watching it.

This is not conservatives. This is something altogether different. Granted, some conservatives are hanging on because they feel like it is the only piece of driftwood for them in the torrent of ####, but those guiding the party are not at all conservative. They will occasionally play a conservative hit for the fans, but they couldn't care less about any of that.

Then why is Trump headlining at the Conservative Political Action Conference?

As it should be. So long as Republicans choose to take this path, the rest of us are going to be both fascinated and repulsed by that choice.
Meh.  You guys say that every day about conservatives/GOP in general.  Let's not pretend this year is any different.

You back the party of intolerance, hate, conformity, Socialism and anti-free speech (Democrats, of course) so of course you're going to say stuff like that about anyone NOT in your party.  It doesn't really even have to be conservatives - just anyone that doesn't bend the knee to the liberal orthodoxy.

Par for the course, IMO.

I’ll bet some frequent PSF posters families disagree
I think trying to shame people into posting less by suggesting that they are neglecting their families is really poor form. And the fact that this criticism is leveled almost exclusively in the PSF, as opposed to the Shark Pool for example where there are high volume posters as well, is telling.

From presidential historian Michael Beschloss:
Considering that it is the left that is now renaming schools to remove Lincoln from them (as is now the state of Illinois - The Land of Lincoln), I would say your post is completely tone-deaf.  As is whoever this Beschloss guy is.

Nope. This is 100% wrong:

1. Please don’t respond to my posts as “you guys”. I only speak for myself.
2. I don’t say that about conservatives, never have. I voted for Ronald Reagan, both Bushes, and Mitt Romney and would do so again. My problem is not with conservatives but with the nativists, the Tea Party and Donald Trump.
3. There are those within the Democratic Party who are intolerant, who hate, who are too conformist, who are socialist, and who support policies that attack free speech. I don’t back any of these people, I oppose them. Thankfully, unlike the Republican Party, the Democrats have managed to contain these extremists and keep them out of the leadership, which in turn allows me to continue to support the Democratic Party under the principle that it’s far more good than bad. If or when  that changes I will no longer support the Democratic Party.

So when you reply to my posts, please respond to something I wrote. Have the courtesy to refrain from making assumptions about me. Thank you.

It’s also really lame because they only do it when they have no other way to respond to the post in question.

I’m not trying to shame anyone into anything.

If you want to put the chips on the table, I like Tim. From what I get on fbg he seems like he is a good person.

I also think he’s addicted to Donald Trump

Like pretty much any addiction, it’s sad

If I noticed anyone posting morning noon and night 7 days a week for 5 years about an NFL player in the shark pool I’d recommend they take a break and enjoy some fresh air too

The owner of the damn site came in here once and literally begged people to log off and go outside and do something

THATS telling imo

The chairman of this year’s CPAC just referred to Trump as “the true, legitimate President of the United States”.
That might be the funniest thing I’ve heard today, or it would be if it wasn’t so incredibly wrong, disturbing, and so opposite of reality.

Joe made a general statement. You targeted Tim. And then made a reference suggesting that he and other posters in the PSF were neglecting their families.  I will take you at your word that your posts were meant to be taken as an expression of genuine concern and kindness, and not as a dig. Still poor form in the way you delivered the message and I’d respectfully suggest not taking that approach in the future in response to a political post.

I’m not the one addicted here. It’s not my convention. It’s not my party that overwhelmingly supports the guy. I’m merely a bystander watching somebody else’s addiction with fascination, horror, and bewilderment.

Some of these guys post to other posters letting them know they will be back after they go take care of something in real life.  Plus the post count, it's not difficult to figure out.

A dig?  Oh nose.  Count the number of digs taken just because of who they support for president.

So you are watching then?  Good, worse are the guys just here to complain for complaints sake.
