Crabtree (1 Viewer)

Grady Wilson

Can't believe I drafted him in so many leagues. I really thought he was going to be a solid #2 WR this year. I know it's only Week 2, but the dude has done nothing so far.

Smith hasn't looked his way one time. He must have zero confidence in him right now. Crabtree is looking like the fourth option after Gore, Morgan, and Davis.

Didn't see game 1 for the niners, but are they punishing him for being the "elephant in the room"?
not sure what that means.anyway he gave a great block on a pass to morgan before.
No way as a 49er fan you didn't catch this in the preseason right?Singletary on Davis-Crabtree spat: 'The elephant was exposed'Calif. -- San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary had to separate tight end Vernon Davis and wide receiver Michael Crabtree after the players got into a heated discussion at practice Wednesday.Singletary didn't provide details about the incident, but he said it was non-football related and is closed. He immediately met with both players in the locker room, and they returned to practice separately."How many of you guys have families?" Singletary said to reporters. "You mind raising your hands? You scared to raise your hands? So you have kids, and every now and then, your kids have some misunderstandings or what have you and they forget that there is a father at home.Niners season previewGet fearless forecastsfrom experts, pivotal games, players on the hot seat, fantasy analysis and more with NFL.com's team-by-teamseason previews. More ..."I will not talk about the issue. But I will talk about this: They were both wrong. And we will not have distractions on this team. Vernon just forgot temporarily, and that is not allowed."Neither Crabtree nor Davis spoke about the incident. Both have been sidelined this preseason because of injuries, and Singletary ruled out Davis for Thursday night's preseason finale against the San Diego Chargers.Crabtree's status is uncertain. The second-year pro is nursing a neck injury and hasn't addressed it or spoken formally since the start of camp Aug. 1, declining multiple media requests. Yet the 49ers' Web site posted a lengthy story quoting him Tuesday afternoon."I appreciate Vernon speaking from his heart, but it was just wrong," Singletary said. "But he indeed is every bit the reason why I made him captain. He's not going to sugarcoat things. He doesn't know how to sugarcoat things. But I appreciate what he was striving to do, but it was just wrong."Davis, 26, had developed a reputation for scuffling in training camp, but he was determined not to have any issues this year. He's coming off a Pro Bowl season in which he tied Antonio Gates' tight-end touchdown record with 13. Davis is still a team captain.Crabtree has long been known as a diva, dating to his Texas Tech days. He was the 10th overall pick in the 2009 draft, then didn't sign with the 49ers until October following a 71-day contract stalemate.Singletary believed the incident between Davis and Crabtree made the 49ers stronger."We didn't get better on the field in practice, but we got better as a team," Singletary said. "There are no elephants in the room. The elephant was exposed.

3 words. Power running team.
Doesn't seem to be hurting Morgan tonight.
Week to week in this passing game. Gore and more Gore with some Davis, then the rest. Some weeks Morgan, some weeks Crabtree. But this is a run first run second team and that is the way it will be when the games are close. It was pretty obvious after their draft what they wanted to do. Play power football and great defense first and foremost. It just does not seem like Crabtree has separated himself from Davis and Morgan as the guy who must get a lot of looks.

Crabtree the #2 WR on a run-heavy team = fantasy horror show

Guy shows up off the streets last year without having taken part in any mini camps who having played a game in over 10 months and catches passed every game. Just freaking mind blowing that he now has had and is having his two worst games of his short career.

Unreal the panic after 90 minutes of football this season. Bridge jumpers unite.
Ummm, not really. He's done nothing to this point. Yeah, he's had one nice catch tonight, but when your QB is not even looking your way much then yeah that's a concern. It'd be different if he were getting looks, but he's not. You tell me... at what point is the right time to be concerned? Are you confident in starting him next week? What about the next?

He got a couple of looks on this drive, and was wide open with running room in the red zone on that tipped pass INT.

:goodposting: It's not that he's had a fluky couple of weeks. He's not even being targeted at this point. He's unstartable until he shows anything at all.

Huge disappointment. I still believe that he's a quality player, but I'm not sure when the numbers will reflect it. Maybe not this season.
