[Drunken Poster]

Woke up in the middle of the night recently. The kind of awakening where you jolt straight up. No moon so it was pitch dark. I sat there, stunned for a bit, a good ten seconds at least. During that time, I couldn't remember where I was or how I got there. My sense of self was missing.

Why does "creative" usually mean weird, or at least, abnormal?

Why can't a creative snippet be about getting up in the morning, showering, brushing your teeth and getting dressed? No event, no build up to something, just life.

Maybe if our art reflected life as it is, we wouldn't be so neurotic. Maybe then we would be more comfortable in our own skin.

The sweat rolled off her butt like raindrops across the hood of my Pinto. And what a butt -- supple and leathery, like an old shoe. I hadn't seen a butt like that since I got out of prison. She smiled at me, and I noticed she was missing several teeth. Ha, I thought to myself...hockey player. I guess she's Canadian after all, eh. I'll give her something to smile aboot.
