Creepy clowns (1 Viewer)

Daughter's Middle School had security guards, locked down entrances, and they were searching backpacks this morning.  Apparently a couple of kids posted yesterday on Snapchat/IG that they were going to bring weapons to school to defend against clown attacks.

Back in the day, the only creepy clowns were the one from Poltergeist and John Wayne Gacy. Not sure what happened to bring them back.

My area is starting to arrest stupid teens who are making up stories about threatening clowns in the area and posting them to social media. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about that.

Has anything bad ever happened from these clowns?  Or is this just completely irrational fear?  So weird.

First they came for the creepy clown hoaxers and I did not speak out...

Today we received our third e-mail from the school district about scary clowns.

We need some kind of scary clown school helicopter I guess.

One attacked a woman here in Cincinnati.

Oh, wait.
So still literally nothing?  Is the real "hoax" here the overreacting school boards and parents?  Just a reverse gag on the kids?

This is like going into one of those FFA threads where you can't tell who is schticking who.

Yes and No. If someone makes a threat to a school, what are they suppose to do? They have to treat it serious. The rest of the stuff, sure it's over reaction.

The entire school system received a joint email this morning from the School Superintendent and the Police Chief advising on the "Nationwide Clown Threat".

It received this immediate, one sentence reply-to-all from a parent who is now my hero: "Don't you clowns have anything better to do?"

The Halloween guidelines just sent out by my daughter's middle school included "Absolutely no clown or jester costumes allowed."

So this guy was arrested after a kid claimed a man dressed as a clown and wearing full makeup chased him with a large kitchen knife. Surveillance footage spotted this guy entering the subway wearing a clown hat and clothes, but no makeup, yet they claim he's the guy and the police are buying the teen's story. Clown claims he's innocent and is a victim of paranoia around all this.

Strangely enough, my wife knows this guy. He works as a specially trained "medical clown" at a bunch of NYC hospitals mostly with kids who are in for fairly long term care, whether having a terminal illness, rehabbing, etc. Wife says he's great with the kids and they all look forward to his visits.

I sort of hope the story is true because the guy has already been told he can't come back to the hospital and be around kids even if charges are ultimately dropped so he's lost a chunk of his livelihood.

I hope that it's not true and the guy sues the kid and the kid's parents for everything they're worth.

What about a Derek Jester jersey? He's a living legend for the Yankees.

I think they were trying to curb the slutty Harley Quinn outfits that would be popular this year.
