Crumpler to Seattle? (1 Viewer)

As long as he's healthy it's a good signing. If it's another vet bust like Pollard then that FO is going to have a lot of consecutive years with FA blunders. I'm hoping he's healthy and would love to see another Crumpler in Seattle.

That Julian Peterson fella worked out pretty well in free agency. Same goes for Kerney. I don't think the SEA FO has too much to worry about.

I agree but Pollard had a lot more mileage on him than Crumpler. I think he could be relatively solid in Seattle.

If he's healthy I think he'll be more than solid, I just hope it's not yet another ***** in what I thought was a good FO.

What was his health issue in the second half of last season? He missed two games in weeks 7-9 and only had one game with over 7 targets. I know Falcons didn't have a QB, but they haven't had a solid passer in forever, and Crumpler always did well.

I think he was dinged in many of those games. Agreed they haven't had a solid passer but even Vick and Schaub look pretty darn good compared to Harrington and a dinged up Leftwhich.

It is hard to figure out if this is a good move. Atlanta cut him for a reason, right? Was it health related? Hell, if he is healthy he will fit well in Seattle.

Deion Grant, Brian RussellThey've had one high profile blunder in Hutch, but this FO has been pretty damn solid. You can't drag 'em through the mud for missing on Pollard.

Alge's knees are the question. They've started to slow him down over the last couple of seasons. IF he can play 16 games this year, he'll be worthwhile, but I'm bearish on Crump going forward. I think his most productive years are in the rear view mirror, but I've been wrong before.

I'll throw Deion Branch's name in as well. HORRIBLE deal, considering they gave away a first round pick for him. I look at what the Pats gave away for Moss and Welker, and it makes me a bit ill. I will say I like the possible aquisition of Crumpler. IF healthy, he will be a solid contributor on that offense.

I'm not. But if they repeat the mistake with Crumpler then I will add that to the Hutch blunder, the $64 million Alexander re-signing blunder, Deion Branch (who I don't blame them for doing but it hasn't worked out at all. So not a blunder but a bad deal nonetheless) keeping SA at full price this season blunder and so forth. Add to that the fact that if a deal doesn't get done with Tru this season they will have Tru, Tatupu and Hill to deal with next season and that doesn't spell relief. Which makes a number of consecutive years with FA blunders. And if you read what I wrote I never actually dragged them through the mud for the Pollard signing, just if they repeat the mistake with Alge.

That's the biggest one imo. Hutchinson was a lot of $ for an interior lineman at the time and I think a LOT of teams wouldn't give him that $. In fact I think 31/32 teams wouldn't give him that much $ so I can't really fault SEA for that one. And I don't even blame them for bringing back Alexander at the inflated contract after having an MVP type season but keeping at that salary is a huge blunder. He's the most overpriced player in the NFL at his level of play right now. They are wasting a lot of FA $'s in what is the last shot with Holmgren but also may be one of the last shots with Hasselbeck before he declines.I'll be interested in how they handle Trufant. Any word how he's handling being franchised? I would say that the Samual contract only puts Trufant in a stronger bargaining position on a long-term deal.

Holmgren and Ruskell both said they would've paid the money he got and in fact were trying to match the offer but couldn't because of the poison pill clauses. If not for that dirty contract trick he would've stayed in Seattle. I still don't agree that they were the same contract, a BS call by the league or arbitrator or whoever. Regardless, they let him talk to other teams because they couldn't agree on his worth. He found out, Seattle agreed but were bamboozled out of the chance to match. They also tried to throw similar money at Diel from SD, but unfortunately he visited Seattle on a rainy weekend and decided he liked sunny SoCal better and settled for less dough. I think it's pretty clear that the Seahawks are willing to pay top dollar to a G.
