per CarolinGrowl:Panthers have also claimed WR Seyi Ajirotutu from San Diego.
Great place for him to land. Not a lot of competition for him there. May need to pick him up.
#2 WR for them.
Confirmed or conjecture?
Just my guess. I like him better than all the other guys other than Smith.
You haven't watched Pilares have you? Pilares is probably headed towards IR but watch out in 2012 and beyond.

Yeah I've seen Pilares. I like him too, but I like Ajiratutu a little bit more.

there must be some holes in Seyi's game or the Chargers wouldn't have sent him packing. Sometimes those guys can flash, but once a team can study them and find tendencies they aren't starter worthy. maybe that is the case here? rotoworld is saying he's likely wr5 taking clowney's spot.

per Schefter:

Colts claimed TE Chris Gronkowski on waivers today.

I post this only because at least a couple Colts 'insiders' (Stampedeblue and Phillip Wilson) are saying trading Tamme is a possibility.

If true, KC comes to mind.

This is disappointing, liked him as a prospect but terrible situation to go to.
Given the possible alternatives, I don't think it's a horrible situation. It wouldn't be crazy for him to turn out to be the best WR on the team. Certainly, he'll get opportunities to prove himself and he's got talent. That's about the best you could hope for.Sure, in a perfect world, he'd go to a place with a good QB and opportunity. The teams with good QBs have plenty of receiving options already though.

You can be a good fantasy WR playing for the Bengals.

Cowboy's claimed Tony Fiammetta (FB) off waivers from the Panthers.

I was a little disappointed that Carolina cut the guy, as he's actually been a solid performer in that role...but when Jerome Felton became available for Detroit, they went ahead and took the upgrade. As a Felix Jones owner, I'm glad that Fiammetta found a spot in Dallas, because I think he'll help them out quite a bit from the Fullback position.

Donnie Avery's FF career is unfortunately over I bet.
Ok, I'll bite...even though he technically doesn't have a "FF" career- why would you possibly think it is over? He went unclaimed through waivers due to a guaranteed base salary. Not unexpected, Rams on the hook for it now. Free to sign wherever, he will be on a roster with somebody. Only question is who...

Collecting 2 salaries all the while.

actually I think St Louis will only have to pay the difference so they probably want him to sign with someone

I'm aware of what FF means. Who knows if he will be startable at any point the rest of his "career", we don't know where he is going to sign. Too early to make your statement is the bottom line.

Anyone know how long it takes for players to clear waivers?

If a player is claimed while on waivers is the team that claims him is responsible for the entire salary?

it certainly would be. hell itd be a huge surprise if he was even top 3 on this team.

:goodposting: Not only does he have to learn a whole new system and terminology, he is going from playing with Tom Brady to Andy Dalton...Also having Shipley, Simpson, and Green easily ahead of him. Im in a dynasty and Im cutting bait and looking for another player who has some potential.

yep, from what I'm hearing the light has gone on with Caldwell as well this off-season and he earned rotational reps on the outside with Green & Simpson

Panthers added 5 players (Stevie Brown, Marcus Harrison, Seyi Ajirotutu, George Selvie and Josh Thomas) Turn over ~10% of the roster in one day....just a week from the regular season. That's pretty telling about the state of that team.

How does this impact Brandon Tate's dynasty value (i.e. how negatively)? If he was in the 50WR to 80WR range before, how far do you move him down now? Is he still worth rostering?

Keiland might have some value.
As someone who drafted Best and Harrison about 3 hours ago, I HATE this news.
Really? I think he's just depth, but time will tell.
I'm not so sure. They drafted Mikel for more than just depth - he was going to play. That doesn't mean Williams automatically assumes that role, of course, but he's closer to what they were likely envisioning than anyone else on the roster. They were waiting for today to see who was going to be available. I think if you have Best, you should grab Williams.
