Derrick Mason: Expected to Start Sunday with Knee Injury

RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com

Saturday, October 6, 2007

Update: Mason (knee) didn't practice for the second consecutive day Friday, but anticipates starting Sunday against the 49ers, the Carroll County Times reports. "I know I’m going to be able to play," Mason said. "I just wanted to rest it a little bit."

Recommendation: Mason is as close to a plug and play vet as there is, so this sounds encouraging. Still, it's worth checking his status before Sunday's kickoff. At this point, there seems to be more concern regarding the status of tight ends Todd Heap and Daniel Wilcox.

Thanks for the info. This is sadly one I have needed to keep account of this week thanks to other bye's and injuries.

Yep, he will be starting for me too. Hopefully, the Ravens can exploit the 9ers. I have both McGahee and Mason.

I don't have Mason but to give hope to owners of him..Heap is very Questionable..doubt he plays..gives more targets to WR's. My opinion guys.

I tend to agree that he seems like a decent option this week. It is not a great week when you have to throw D. Mason in there these days, but it could be worse. Glad to hear he is likely playing, put it that way.

Mason is 2nd in the league in receptions, in PPR leagues he's the 14th best WR this right now, making him a great #2. Guy hasn't had less than 13 pts so far in a game (again, in PPR leagues). Let's show some respect lol.

You are completely right when it comes to PPR. Not so much for non-PPR however. But the guy will absolutely get opportunities and in FF that is often times what it is all about.

Big deal. Mason's buried on my depth chart behind Harrison, Andre Johnson and Kevin Curtis.

Oh, wait. That means he's my WR1 for this week.

In other words, thanks very much for the update. This is a great board.

You're very welcome......he's now my #1 as well (A Johnson, A Boldin owner) But don't get me started on my injured players.... :goodposting:

In PPR leagues your correct he had

14.6 14.4 21.9 17.8 great FF points

But he played these ranked DT's 14th 27th 29th 30th

Really tho he's a good play this week 5
