Dallas Braden (1 Viewer)

With his grandmother in the stands on Mother's Day

Pretty kick ###.

someone ask A Rod how many perfect games he's thrown.

Longoria tried a bunt to get on. Big fan of Evan here but that's kinda weak.
I didn't see the game, but I heard it was in the 5th inning? Is that correct? If so, the game is still in play there and that's completely legit.
Pretty sure it was the 6th. His best chance of getting his team back in the game is a long ball not a bunt.Bush League imo
Would have had to been the 5th. 6th inning would be the 7-9 hitters. Putting down a nice bunt and getting a pitcher who is in a groove off the mound, while the game is still in play is always a good move. If he did it in the 8th you could argue it's bush.

I'm with you, Fan. It was early enough and Evan was leading off the inning when he tried it, just trying to get something going. Down 4-0 and struggling offensively, a solo shot doesn't do much at that point. It sounds to me that Evan knew it could be a long game for the Rays offense and he was trying anything to get on base.ETA: Congrats to Braden. :lmao:

I"m going to say, you can do it in the first, but then after that, no bunts until there is a knock(since your 4-8 hitters usually won't bunt for a hit anyway)Maybe Dallas can consult his unwritten rulebook. Here's a fun question to ask though....same situation, same spot in the lineup, same scenario...if A-Rod tries to bunt his way on, what do you say about him, what does the world say about him?

Couldn't have picked a better guy to throw a perfect game on Mothers' Day. This is a great story.

I agree with most on Longo. Borderline bush-league, but probably okay since it was relatively early in the game.

Yes, it would've been different if it were A-Rod. A-Rod has a history of being a schmuck. So, it's different.

Didn't Tommy Lasorda shoot down this ridiculous thought on Jim Rome years ago with Schilling's no-no?
