BUFFALO, N.Y. – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he will review next week whether Cowboys nose guard Tank Johnson should have his suspension reduced from eight to six games.Goodell, in town for an ESPN Monday Night Football luncheon, said he's had good conversations with Johnson, who was suspended for violating the NFL's conduct policy."He's been doing some positive things about changing his life and making better decisions going forward," Goodell said of Johnson, whom the Cowboys signed last month. "We had to get him situated in Dallas to make sure that he continued on the things I asked during his suspension and I will be reviewing that in the next couple of weeks."Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he's optimistic that the suspension could be reduced. As it stands now, Johnson is eligible to return on Nov. 11 against the New York Giants. If the suspension is reduced to six games, Johnson could play Oct. 21 against Minnesota."The process is more of, is Terry fundamentally doing everything he can and more regarding his consulting," Jones said of Johnson. "He's working with Calvin [Hill], with the league and with our consultants and doing those kinds of things. Those in my mind will make an impression with Roger with what he's doing."Goodell is impressed that Johnson has spoken with him directly instead of using an attorney or agent to make his case."Yes, Tank was very open, by saying 'I want to be Man of the Year,' " Goodell said. "And I think that's great that he's got that kind of ambition and I think he recognizes the mistakes that he's made."
