Anybody have any news or insight on this guy? Getting any interest from an NFL team? Worth a grab and stash late in a dynasty rookie draft?
Exactly. Probably better than Maclin is but is banged up...He can't pass a physical. Such a shame, because the guy has some serious talent.
Probably better than a 1st rounder that's already shown he can play on the next level? I disagree.Exactly. Probably better than Maclin is but is banged up...He can't pass a physical. Such a shame, because the guy has some serious talent.
I don't think he can sign as a free agent because he can't pass a physical YET, his surgery was just a few months ago and he isn't able to run and cut at full speed this soon. The other guys were drafted and stashed. The last I read about him was that he planned to be close to fully healthy by the time camp started and expects to compete for a job somewhere. I'm not sure he is as good as Maclin, but they are ALOT closer in talent than most of the people on fantasy websites realize. Definitely a guy to watch to see where he lands...when healthy he is a mismatch of epic proportions because he is too fast for LBs, too big for CBs and he just runs around/over Safeties and forget trying to compete for a jump ball (KSU game) even if you have position. If I were going to come up with a comparable player, I'd think something along the lines of a shorter, but faster James Hardy...with huge upside as a Redzone target.DA has just never been able to shake the injury bug, but there was a time when he was the fastest player on the Mizzou team with a 40'+ vertical at 6'4, 210-215 lbs...and Maclin was on the bench waiting for his chance. I love JMAC, but if DA would have stayed healthy, Maclin wouldn't have come out as a RS. Soph...he simply wouldn't have had his chance to emerge with a healthy DA starting in front of him and taking his share of the catches.See for yourself...http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d8177ef91/2010-Draft-Vignettes-Danario-Alexander-MissouriIf he is that good why wouldn't a team draft him just to stash him on IR a la Brandon Tate or Michael Bush.
It is interesting that you can draft a player without passing a physical but can't sign him without one. Detriot should have made him Mr. Irrelevant rather than taking Mr. 420.I don't think he can sign as a free agent because he can't pass a physical YET, his surgery was just a few months ago and he isn't able to run and cut at full speed this soon. Way to go apples to oranges. They played in the same system and DA broke all of Maclin's records. Going into the NFL DA has as much skill or more than Maclin. Doesn't mean he's going to be as good of a pro as Maclin so far as there are other issues involved (team, mental, injuries, etc), but he was a beast in college and out played Maclin in the same system. Sure we have more info on Maclin as a pro and you can look at that and say Maclin is clearly better but DA has never gotten a chance to play int he pros to have a comparable discussion on that...Probably better than a 1st rounder that's already shown he can play on the next level? I agree with most of what you are saying, but Maclin played 2 years with an often dinged DA, Rucker, Coffman and Saunders...last year DA was the only WR that Gabbert trusted, so he force fed him the ball. It was great for the statline, but not great if a team could shut down that connection because the offense would stall out.Way to go apples to oranges. well, he is not yet in the NFL .... I assume MFL will list him after he signs ...This guy isn't even listed on MFL.![]()
I hear ya, was hoping to sneak him onto my roster while everyone slept.well, he is not yet in the NFL .... I assume MFL will list him after he signs ...This guy isn't even listed on MFL.![]()
some leagues will allow you to pick him up under another player's name. the owners just post on the message board that David Anderson = Danario AlexanderI hear ya, was hoping to sneak him onto my roster while everyone slept.well, he is not yet in the NFL .... Theres a lot more to it than comparing college stats. Clearly the scouts saw different sets of attributes and skills. They apparently thought MAclins would translate and danario's wouldn't.I agree with most of what you are saying, but Maclin played 2 years with an often dinged DA, Rucker, Coffman and Saunders...last year DA was the only WR that Gabbert trusted, so he force fed him the ball. Commissioner can add custom players as well. I usually just but a ZZZ in front of their name to keep them all grouped at the bottom of the list so that I can delete them later on if needed.some leagues will allow you to pick him up under another player's name. the owners just post on the message board that David Anderson = Danario AlexanderI hear ya, was hoping to sneak him onto my roster while everyone slept.well, he is not yet in the NFL ....
