Danny Amendola (1 Viewer)

With Donnie Avery suffering a serious injury; Bradford looking good in the preseason game against the Pats and the fact that we know St Louis will be trailing in a lot of games this year requiring them to throw a lot in the 2nd half, I am liking Danny A in PPR leagues as a late sleeper pick

Someone has to catch the balls in St Louis and that schedule is cake with the NFC West; AFC West and last place teams in the NFC such as Detroit and Tampa.

Thoughts?

I think Amendola is a cinch for 50 catches, 600 yards with Avery out, but his ceiling is low. I picked up Laurent Robinson in a bunch of leagues last night over Amendola because his ceiling is higher.

Amendola is a huge sleeper now. Especially in leagues with KR/PR yardage. He could get 500yds receving and his stats last year for returns was over 1900yds.

In my KR/PR yardage dynasty startup draft this off-season, I managed to pick him up in the 43rd round, at pick 429 overall.

He actually finished last season as the #34 WR on a PPR basis, so he was borderline startable just using last season's 34 catches for 270 yards. If he can just double that, and finish with ~60 catches for 500-600 yards, he will be borderline top-25 or better.

A definite steal in return yardage leagues...

I can't believe this. I kind of left Amendola off of my radar since he was in competition for a roster spot, and now he not only is the full time returner on a bad team, he is also getting some significant action on offense.

The way my league settings are, if he maintains this role all year, he will seriously contend for the number one overall scorer in our league. And the guy that has him on his roster is the guy that won it all last year.

This actually just pisses me off.

Robinson will be their WR1 for first half of season. Danario Alexander could put a dent in L-Rob's numbers by the second half of the season. For redraft Amendola is probably the smart pickup, but for dynasty I'd lean towards Alexander given Robinson's injury history.
