Dante Culpepper will play for? (1 Viewer)

I'm sure there will be plenty of guys that will provide some sarcastic response to the question, but one has to wonder where he'll end up. I would think a team like the Panthers would be very interested in a QB like Dante Culpepper. Delhomme is coming off of major surgery and Matt Moore is young and experienced. They were crippled last year after Delhomme went down. Granted that Moore looked decent and far better than Carr, but that is not saying much. Now that Dante is healthy and 2 yrs removed from the knee injury, why not? If Delhomme is completely recovered...he's just an insurance policy. If Delhomme is not who he once was...you have a proven veteran that surely knows how to get the ball to the star WR. Of course, not saying that Dante is the Uber-Stud, but he's more than servicable and gives them a better chance to win than Moore would give them. Just seems too logical to me that Dante would be a good fit for Carolina at this point.

If not Carolina, who? CHI? NYJ? KC? MIN? STL? BAL?

Barring injuries he will not sign in Carolina. The Panthers are high on Moore as their #2 and think Basanez will be a quality #3, they have no spot and no use for C Pep.

I hadn't thought of it before, but yeah I think having Daunte in Carolina would be a safer move considering Delhomme's recovery. Steve Smith was all but invisible last year after Delhomme was injured...Daunte would still be capable in getting him the ball. Daunte will always have turnover issues though so I don't think they'd be successful with him, ultimately.Chicago and Min seem to have made their bed at QB and are keeping it that way. I think he could potentially help the Jets.

When was the last time Culpepper was "more than serviceable"? 2004?

I would guess its more about his me-first attitude than his talent at this point. Hes been a jerk in his last few spots, I'm guessing no one thinks his limited upside is worth the headaches.

When Carr was under center? Yes. When Moore was? Not so much. Watching Carr take a snap, standi n the pocket for 0.5 seconds, go into scramble mode before throwing a heave in the general direction of Smith but either falling 20 feet in front of him, into a defender's hands, or sail to the sideline was just painful - I'm sure it was 100x harder on Smith. Smith looked better once Moore became the guy, not nearly as good as when Delhomme was QB but effective and productive. How Carr is still employed in the league baffles me.

One thing people are forgetting is that Cpep looked terrible in Minn before he was hurt. Then looked terrible in Miami and Oakland after his return. GB, who could use an experienced QB on their roster, took a look at Cpep before the draft and then turned around and drafted 2 rookies. Cpep's last good year was 2004, I think it is time to put a fork in him.

I vehemently disagree. The man is done being relevant from both an NFL and fantasy standpoint.
I think he's done. Daunte was great with Moss (who wouldn't be?), but without Moss his deficiencies were exposed. However, the good thing about going to Carolina would be the boating opportunities on the NC coast.

I believe Moss actually hurt his growth as a QB. He became dependant on Moss too much by just throwing it up there for him to come down with it. So, instead of improving his game from a young college gun slinger to a more technical proficient NFL QB as most younger QB's do, he kept just throwing the long ball or jump ball to ol Randy.

He did have a bad last season in MIN as he was trying to force the ball too much before his injury. As for MIA, can't really judge him there since he really wasn't supposed to be on the field (not recovered fully). As for OAK, he had few moments when he made something happen out of nothing, but NOBODY playing QB played worth a lick. Seeing how they had little to no talent on their offense, can't say that a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning would have fared much better playing in OAK either. Basically, I think it's unfair to say it was Dante. I didn't even touch the topic about the head games being played in OAK with the various starters (QB) from week to week that occurred either.

The real question might be will anyone sign Culpepper or Leftwich? These are both pretty big name quarterbacks who would seem to have several quality years left and nobody seems to be looking at them. I can't remember the last time we had a couple of guys like this getting no interest at QB. It just seems odd. They may have to wait until a team starts piling up injuries.

I don't care how bad your team is, when your receiver is open and you throw an 8 yard pass in the dirt 2 feet in front of him you suck.

What has Leftwich accomplished in his career? In five season he never:1) Played 16 games2) threw for 3000 yards3) threw for more than 15 TDsI can't believe Jacksonville hung onto him that long. These two belong on the scrap heap along with Carr and Harrington.

No team in the hunt for a Superbowl has any interest in CPep and his embarrassing strut He can't take a team to a championship. His only chance is late in the year as an injury replacement for a team trying to salvage the season.

Sadly, he is unsigned and the worst 6+ year veteran QB in history is taking snaps (albiet still sucking and clueless) as a backup for the Giants.
