Dante Hall (1 Viewer)

I recall reading a quote from Herm that he was going to try to work Dante into the offense more. Any Chiefs homers have any further insight to this?

Due to the Housh, I'm debating starting Dante in a league that rewards for return yards. A typical day returning can get you 4-6pts, which even when Dante is only catch 2/20, you can get about 10 pts, not bad for a spot start.

But if Herm is serious about working him more into offense, you could be looking at 15ppg.

Anyone take note of KC in preseason, with an eye to if Dante was more involved??

Dante Hall will get a reverse every couple of games, and an occasional target in 3-WR sets. Don't expect more than 500 non-return yards.

this guy is overrated.

he will not be worked into the offense.

Furthermore 2003 was a perfect storm.

I don't think he'll equal those 5 TD's from returns for the rest of his career.

I doubt they use him that much in the regular O. For one, they like to keep him fresh for special teams. But the bigger issue is that he's really not a very good receiver, other than being fast. He drops a lot of passes, that's why he's never been more involved in the O. So they run some reverses with him, they'll have him run a fly pattern to see if he can break a big one...but they'll never rely on him to be catching 3rd down passes and such.

I don't care what Herm says. He's said a lot of things. If he's going to get Dante more involved, get Parker more involved, get Gonzalez more involved, keep Kennison involved at the same level...and concentrate on the run more...well, how exactly do you do all that in the same game? Herm isn't calling the plays...thank God.

I wouldn't expect Dante to do much more than you've ever seen from him so far. But nothing you saw in the preseason would be a good indicator of the types of plays they'll run in the reg season. Dante would be lucky to catch 40 passes this year. He's basically the fifth receiving option.

But the bigger issue is that he's really not a very good receiver
Unlike Kennison and Parker? If your league rewards return yards in the way that mine does then Hall is a top 10 WR. I don't see any big changes from last year's numbers for him.

Kennison is reliable, in that he doesn't drop passes. That's why he's had back to back 1,000yd seasons. Is he a great WR? Nope, but he's better than Hall. Parker was a rookie, and dropped a lot of passes. He seems to have fixed that problem this year, and Green trusts him more. He also goes over the middle, despite his size. He should do much better than last year. Hall still drops anything other than screens most of the time. He's been like that since they first tried to use him as a WR. He simply has never done anything as a WR.I'm not commenting on his return abilities. The guy asked how he'd be used in the offense. So when I say he'd be lucky to catch 40 passes...it's not any different from past years. You pretty much said the same thing, you don't see any big changes. So if your league rewards for return yards, sure...think about him. As that's the only way he's valuable as a WR. But the fact remains, he's NOT a very good WR. So I have no clue why you'd pick that out to quote.

Interesting, I had no idea he was a rubbish WR. That explains his limited catches. :)

I thought Herm's quotes reeked of coachspeak, and nothing posted here really makes me think much otherwise at this point.

Still, in his role last year Hall was WR22 in our league, so I'm hoping for at least a tenner from him Sunday.....
