DARK SOULS II : Tight Pants Edition (1 Viewer)

Yeah, I played this a while back.  To be fair, it does some things really, really well.  Running at 60 fps is nice, and it does straight-up PvP better than any of the other titles.  I even liked some of the off-beat covenants, like the rat one.  There are lots of good, viable builds, and I appreciated being able to re-spec to try out other approaches without having to start over with a brand new character.  It's a perfectly fine, enjoyable game.  That said, it's very clearly the weakest entry in the franchise IMO.
I beat the vanilla/base version of the game awhile back, but I kept hearing how this version adds so much. So far it's good, it's just difficult.  Honestly once I "got" the series and things clicked, I never got stuck for too long except the occasional boss. So far in this version though I'm having a difficult go of it.

So, I tried playing DS1 the other day. I bought to Artotious DLC for $5 and wanted to give it a twirl. Unfortunately, the fame runs like a$$ on XB1 backwards compatibility. The undead burg was super choppy, so I think that'll have to wait for a remastered version.
Yeah its a little funky but the graphics are slightly improved. There are other weird anomalies like the ledges under the dragon in the undead burg being 3x wider for some weird reason.

I also picked up Scholar of the First Sin. Have you guys played this version. They added all kinds of powered up enemies in random spots. I get to the platform at Heide's tower of flame and there's an f'ing dragon there to roast me.
Yes.

I know I am in the minority, and I guess every franchise has to have a "worst", but I really liked DSII. I think I would enjoy a PC version with mods to make it look like the original trailer showed.

I gotta get another PC one day.

Once I got in the castle past the dragon leading up to the gargoyles, I'm pretty sure it dropped to like 5 frames per second. I thought the game was frozen at one point. I just put it away after that.

As for DS2, I'm with you. I loved it. Maybe it's because it was my first where the player base was still active, but I had a blast. I'm enjoying it now on the replay with SotFS too. I'm up to the 3 sentinels boss which I despised the first time as well.

The sentinels are hard. You almost have to kill the first one before the second one shows up - otherwise it is game over.

Yeah, the best way to defeat them is the first time. They come out slowly and one at a time. If you die after all of them are running around you essentially have to fight 3-4 of them almost at once the next time around. It can set you back quite a bit of time as (Ive found) I need to level up a few more times in order to deal enough damage to kill them off quick enough. Im not good at dodging more then blocking so I struggle with these dudes. Sucks if that happens because you're pretty much rolling by then.

Did you know you can parry them?

Parry Ruin Sentinels

With DS remastered coming out in a couple of weeks I am jonesing for some Souls action so I fired this one up. I’m in like NG++++ so it’s a slaughter. Debating on just rolling a new toon.

I love these games!

I’m getting absolutely manhandled. Oh and Dark Souls II is kicking my ###.

In the forest of the giants (basically the fist main area theres a red NPC invader named Armourer Dennis that I can’t beat. It’s not even close.
