Darnell Dockett (1 Viewer)

Few people realize you have the right to refuse a search request, and that a refusal != probable cause to search. I'm surprised Darnell Dockett is one of them.

Darnell Dockett, the funniest athlete on twitter. oh, and one of the most underrated d lineman in the game... i'm tuned in to see the outcome of this situation!

meanwhile, he stopped updating it. does that mean he was taken to jail? i assume he would have said he's been free to leave if he was...

Huh? Are you saying that refusal to search = Probable cause to search?
You have never programmed a computer in your entire life.!= means not equal.
You're right.I own the company that pays these nerds to do it
And your company would fail without them.

ddockett I just ate a bowl of lima beans! *evil laugh* can't wait till about 8am, be like a walking time bomb! *doing stanky leg*

:lmao:

I'm not letting them search mine either. Cops can be jagbags. Your speeding can I search your car...what bs

A tweet from Darnell Dockett today...

"The police drove behind me for 11mins today! In the same county they tried that search with no warrant #####! And I'm in a diffrent whip!"

Ok, an issue with police on twitter once, brief lack of judgement. Doing it twice, makes me think something is wrong with your judgement in general.

Your under a microscope Darnell, I would not suggest painting a target on your back as well.

ETA: Here is another tweet from earlier,

"I just saw this dude get KNOCKED the hell out on this UFC fighting I knew it was a reason I don't do that! *rubs on my pistol!*"

Man, he is just not all there or don't get it. I wonder why cops are following him and giving him grief.

I try to keep my twitter feed streamlined (only a few subject matter experts, NO personal friend feeds). #9-0 is the only athlete I follow. It's usually funny stuff vs. most other athletes always pimping the goings-on of their foundations.

Wut? What's wrong with carrying a gun to protect yourself?

Nothing, but an MMA fight is sanctioned, no reason to bring a gun. At least that is how I look at his tweet. But actually, in this specific comment, I was just pointing out the reasons he may be gettin harrassed.

I have a feeling a tweet is going to get him in trouble soon. Very surprised I didn't see any of this stuff on Sportscenter. This seems like one of those stories they'd pick up.

Only in certain states can you deny a police search of your car--and the idea that the denial of a search is probable cause of a search is a violation of you legal rights. It may make sense logically, but the law is hardly logical. If that's legal, you could just as easily bypass the 5th amendment.

Dockett could have been watching it on PPV and/or have a license for his pistol. AZ ain't the safest place nemore.

No, lol... my point is he was referencing the MMA, if you fight in MMA, you should not need a gun. I was saying in that fight, you wouldnt need to bring a gun, as your hands, feet, and skill do the work. Not that he brought a gun as a spectator to a match. Now that i settled your misunderstanding. No NFL player should be refering to a gun in any tweet, any how. Do they not learn? Right or wrong, legal or illegal, it does not look good for the player or the NFL.Searching his car, yes he should not of let them search it. But tweeting about it? That is the whole point, do people not learn from tweeting and its outcome?

I was talking generally.I don't give a crap about MMA.

And if he owns it legally he can talk about it all he wants. Thats like saying athletes shouldn't be able to/talk about hunting because guns are involved. It's only Gilbert Arenas territory when he is actually breaking laws. As they say, if you aren't doing anything wrong you don't have anything to hide--he certainly ain't hiding.

I am not disputing owning a gun, or talking about it, if you feel the need. But to be a person who works in the NFL, and the NFL obviously frown upon things like this, it may not be a smart decision to tweet about it in the fashion he did.Now I own a gun legally (maybe a couple  ) but thats my business, I'm not going to tweet about it. And if I did, I sure would not word it like he did "rubs my pistol", then wonder why a cop is following. Now I understand your point, lets see if you understand mine.

I don't think he spends anymore time in AZ than he has to. Pretty sure from reading his tweets, he splits time between DC and Miami.

Maybe if he didn't admit to stealing a car, admit to committing robberies, or get arrested on felony charges the cops wouldn't be so interested in him.

Maybe "rubbing his pistol" doesn't mean what you think it means :excited:

Miami and DC, two place where gang-bangers (or guys who look like gang-bangers) don't drive around rubbing their pistols

Your post reminds of this:The Nightwatchman Is the Problem - "Resist Not Evil" By Clarence Darrow

Another great post from the thug Dockett ---

"Damn! Note to my self! If I EVER HAVE TO USE this CHOPPER, or this GLOCK 40 on some one! Casey Anthony's lawyer will get a call from ME!"

---yup sounds like a guy who does not deserve to be hounded by the cops. I can't wait to watch him tweet something that really gets him in trouble.

Could be on to something. Here are some of today's gems.
Damn I almost brung my "ROCKET" into work this morning like gilbert arenas. But mine was by accident it was in my book bag.
Kept sayin to myself why is my book bag so heavy, looked in side it was Big pookey"nickel plated Glock 40" trying to come to work w/me! Smh

Aren't these firearms, themselves, kind of a theft magnet?
Sure, if you're the robbing type, I guess you could score some sweet guns since you know he's away at practice right now. It's not that hard to find his home address on the county assessor site.

Maybe Darnell Dockett is playing us all for fools. Read quote below. It's easily the sports tweet of the day.

The tweet from Dockett's verified account read: Damn I almost brung my "ROCKET" into work this morning like gilbert arenas. But mine was by accident it was in my book bag."

Remember, several years ago, NBA player Arenas brought a gun into the locker room. It was a dumb move, almost ending his career and humilating the sport.

Dockett could be playing us all for fools but it doesn't sound like it. I spoke to a league official who also saw the tweet and can tell you the NFL didn't find it funny if he was kidding.

Dockett later added this: "Kept sayin to myself why is my book bag so heavy, looked in side it was Big pookey"nickel plated Glock 40" trying to come to work w/me! Smh."

There may be no legal issues here at all and based on his tweets he didn't bring "Big Pookey" into the locker room. He almost did.

Regardless, what a ####### tweet, even if he is joking. Why joke about almost bringing a gun into the locker room?

If he wasn't joking, why admit it? He has now gotten the attention of the NFL. The league, while respecting players' Constitutional rights, have always discouraged players from carrying around handguns.

Again, Dockett may be completely within his rights and done nothing illegal. But in this era of Plaxico Burress nearly shooting off his johnson haven't players learned that guns deserve much more respect?

At the very least don't they deserve a better name than Pookey?

This dude has no sense what so ever, I have to call him the dumbest player in the league at this point.

 oh no. he tweeted he carries a gun? If I was an NFL athlete, many of who carry/wear 100's of thousands of dollars and jewelry, I'd want every thug out there to know I'm the wrong guy to rob. What a non-story.

Was it a non story when Plax did it?You make some strange comments, so much so we can se your bias to being a gun owner. I own one too, but dont feel the need to talk about it, but then again I have common sense.

Oh I'm no one too :bag: Point is I have like 200 twitter followers and docket has prolly 20,000 (complete guess). But interesting that you don't the rampant player hating here. "dumbest guy in the league" is patently unfair to label a guy who has done nothing here to deserve it, save utilize many of the bill of rights that we all champion so much.

Plax discharged an unlicensed, loaded firearm in a nightclub that he was carrying in his sweatpants, simultaneously injuring himself, putting thousand at risk, and violating NYC's new gun law, which is one of the harshest.Darnell tweeted "oops, brought my gun to work with me by accident' and "no officer you can't search my vehicle because you 'feel like it'.

WORLDS apart.

Oh I'm all about our rights, but I also dislike ignorance. And when your a memeber of the NFL, your image changes if you like it or not. I in no way said he should not own a gun, more power to him, but talking about it in the matter he does looks bad for the NFL and the personal conduct policy of representing yourself and the team with class. Talking about carrying guns into the practice facility just cries for attention and shows the he is the dumbest player in the league to me.

Not a gun owner. If I have any bias it's that I believe in our constitution and bill of rights, and do fight to protect them whenever I can.

But at least we found some common ground here. :banned:

Brought my gun into work on accident is just an oops? Search my car because he "feels like it"? I wonder why cops are all over him, it obvious he is a pillar of his community.

Ok, we end this convo here, as its obvious your looking to defend the dumbest player in the league at all costs.

Having rights, and being ignorant are 2 different things.
