i love this guy! all he does (when he plays) is produce sweet numbers. 10 TD's last year in 13 games.

i know all about the turf toe issue, but he's playing on grass now. i've always heard that grass is 100 times better than turf when it comes to wear and tear on feet and legs. this year he'll have 12 games on grass and 4 on turf. last year he played 6 on grass and 11 on turf.

his games on turf this year are:

@ StL - 9-179-2 in two games vs StL last year. these guys always seems to play shoot outs

@ NYG - 7-57-2 vs NYG last year. this game is also after SF's bye week, so if the toe is bugging him he'll have an extra week to heal

@ Atl - horrible pass D last year

@ Sea - total revenge game. 4-77-1 in last year's first SF/Sea matchup, he missed the second

the SF passing offence will put up big numbers, especially with opponents crowding the line to shut down Gore, and SF will be playing catchup a fair bit in the 2nd quarter.

this guy could produce like a WR1 but at a much cheaper price than the big names.

As a homer, I disagree about the SF passing offense...besides the pass rush, its the area that worries me the most heading into the season...but I hope you are right.

I'm avoiding Darrell Jackson at all costs this year.

First off, the price tag is just way too high. How is this guy being drafted as a WR#2? I view him closer to a WR#4, he's a gamble. WRs typically don't do well in their first year changing teams, and DJax just went from a money situation in Seattle to a questionable one in San Fran. The guy has been injured and unable to participate with his new team, further setting him back. And then we find out the injury is turf toe? Now I'm officially scared.

Don't get me wrong, I like Darrell and think he is an underrated player. I think he will do well in SF... eventually. I'm just not overly optimistic about SF's passing O this year or the entire offense in general. If SF is going to improve as a team this year, it will be on the defensive side of the ball IMO.

Stud? This is not 2004! Big toe issue and that is a big issue. I look at that factor before I start to waste time purging the stats. He will make u as batty as a woman week in and week out with that toe problem.

Add to that Davis will very likely get more attention this year == Jackson

DJax was tied for 15th in WR RZ targets last year in only 13 GP, don't see the TD's being there in SF, simply based on opportunity.

DJax is not a stud. He is an injury risk and has piss-poor hands. He was a product of a productive WCO Homgren system. He will be a borderline WR2 this season.

Injury issue, new team, no real #2 WR to keep the double teams off of him, (Davis 2nd year te will not take the double team away from Jackson) very shaky #3 FF WR, best drafted as a #4 FF WR
