OK. Darrius Heyward-Bey has certainly not lived up to his draft status, but he began to show signs of life at the end of last year and seemed to develop a pretty strong rapport with Carson Palmer. Now, he's just not receiving targets and consequently not putting up points.
What gives? Is this a product of the coaching change in Oakland? Is Carson Palmer just playing really, really poorly?
Unfortunately, I've yet to catch a Raiders game this year, so I don't have the answers. I'm hopeful that someone has some insight into this situation and perhaps some speculation one whether we can expect a turnaround from DHB this year. I know he was being drafted as a sleeper by many and I read some posts from folks around here who had him pegged for a 1000+ yard season. FBGs staff had him ranked as a low-end WR3 coming into the season, but not even that has happened.
He did just snag a TD catch, which is great, but it was still just his 2nd target of the game.
