Dawyne Jarret WILL HE EVER BE GOOD? (1 Viewer)

How good you do guys think Jarrett is going to be? Will he be the next Mike Williams or maybe the next Hermon Moore. Do you guys think he will have a good NFL career?

Nope. He's a bum. He doesn't get it and never will. Poor man's Mike Williams both financially and skillwise.

actually the coaches have had good things to say about him this offseason. Maybe he should get a chance to take a few snaps during a game before we label him a complete bust? :lmao:

Like what: "damn that kid can drink but he aint got much sense"

They signed Hackett and resigned Colbert so they aren't giving him a spot that's for sure. He's going the wrong way on the depth chart...

No.Funny thing is, Carolina drafted him to be their new Keyshawn. In his dreams he can be Keyshawn.
I live in NC, so even though I am a Jets fan, I follow the Panthers. I know Jarrett was supposed to be the next Keyshawn (even Key said so at the draft he was commentating), but I could not (and still can't) figure out why the Panthers cut Key. He did exactly what they asked for roughly 700+ yards and 5 TDs, yet they not only let go of a productive WR, they also got rid of a solid mentor. As good as Steve Smith is, he has yet to show he is the mentoring type (which is fine), but they the perfect person and just let him go...?? Can't figure that one out.

he's not the best teammate in the world. probably a lockerroom thing I'd imagine

Everybody has good things said about them this time of year. That's SOP.

It was. the biggest was Keyshawn let Jake take the heat publicly for a critical interception on a play where it was the WR's fault. He did other stuff before that, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I had serious questions about how Jarrett's skills would translate to the NFL. He is not fast out of his breaks, and doesn't have elite speed. He does have good coordination and is aggressive to the ball, but if you can't get open you won't get enough opportunities to be a fantasy factor.

With that being said, for this to be a discussion he needs to change his work ethic drastically. Last year Steve Smith called him out in front of the media for his lack of film study, and he has always had some ego/character issues. He needs to put that behind him and start seriously working on his weaknesses as a player. At this point, it will be hard for him to make a large impact in the NFL.

I'd buy low, but very low. I got him today as a throw in on another trade. You might be able to pick him up in some leagues off the WW once the rookie draft is over. People give up on 1st year WR's way too early.

Moose is a 35 year old WR who caught a grand total of 40 balls for 570 yards last year. He may not have anything left in the tank at all. Hackett is every FBG's favorite sleeper who can't stay healthy and was in such high demand CARR gave him $3.5M over 2 years? That's chump change. They also lost Colbert & Carter before they brought these two in, seems like signings for depth, not neccessarily a reflection on Jarrett.

I'd say it's a wash compared to last year, maybe even weaker competition. Would anyone be surprised if Moose was outright cut in training camp? Kind of reminds me of Moulds or Joe Horn bouncing around the league well after their prime. Jarrett may never do anything, but calling a WR after their 1st season an outright bust seems premature to me.
